Balance transfer

I want to do a balance transfer from my credit one card to my citi DC card. Can't stand paying 16 extra dollars a month on a card I don't use. I want to close it. Unfortunately there is a 298 balance on it. I was thinking of doing a balance transfer. How do I go about it. I've never done it before.

get a check from citi and fill it out and pay off the credit one card.

yeah let them know you wanna do a BT and they'll send a convenience check drawn off of your credit card account

no you do not get cash back, nor will this go into your purchase tracker.

you can do the balance transfer online, it will be faster, and much simpler. you will pay a 3 percent fee on the 298. total should be 306.94 on the DC

I just did it online. Very close 307! Haha can I still use the card, or do I need to wait? This will be paid off sept 9th.

Why not just....pay off the card? Carrying a balance on a Credit One card has to be the epitome of masochism.

Oops I meant October 9th. I can't pay it off till October and I'm sick of the monthly annual fee as well as their interest rate. I don't want to pay them another dime. And you're right, it is the epitome of masochism!😉

Tuolumne, lesson has been learned. This is all new to me. I use to use cards and only pay minimum, then use it again. Did that for 2 years. After joining my fico, I've learned what to do and what not to do. Now I only spend what I can pay off next statement. I did however just refurnished a couple rooms in my house with my venture card. That will be paid off in 3 months. I did that because I have a zero apr until July I believe. Other than that. It's responsible spending for me. 😊

Eta, my payments are about 400 each a month a opposed to 25.

How do you have 0 percent interest on a Capital One Venture card? Not trying to gang up on ya, just here to help!

That sounds like a Quicksilver offer. I bet thats what you have. Hopefully you got 1.5% cash back on all that, because yeah, for the venture to get 2% youre gonna have to pick out a travel expense and keep redeeming it over and over

Not a wise idea if it is a venture with interest... i mean the better choice would be to use a no interest card, but hopefully you werent using it in hopes of rewards because that interest you pay pretty much cancels it out...

Yea might want to check that as I believe only the VentureOne comes with the 0% offer.
