Citi Double Cash card lower interest rate- thanks Citi

I've had the card for just two weeks now, have been using it approx 22 times and made 3 payments even though none are due yet. Called Citi today and asked them to lower the interest rate (got 6k CL, 22% interest rate, most likely because it was at the end of an app spree). Had a nice conversation with analyst and succeeded in getting it lowered to 17.99%. Every bit helps! Thanks Citi!

Thanks taxi and ddemari. I was kind of afraid to call because my card was so new, but they were really nice and I'm glad I did! You're right, it never hurts to ask.

Nice thing is - card is in the intro period of 0% for 15 months, so I have the lower rate to look foprward to once the 0% period is complete. So far I've been really impressed with how customer-focused Citi has been.

Thanks for the info! I also recently got my DC card, and it is the highest APR of any card I have. I plan to PIF after the into period anyway, but now I will call and ask for an APR reduction.

Yes - I receievd the 0% for 15 months when I was approved. Felt a little awkward calling them back to ask about lowering the long-term interest rate when I had 0% for the next 15 months, but was looking down the road and was glad I asked.

I think probably having a good bit of activity and paying 3 large payments before even the first payment was due did not hurt either.

Congrats! I went on chat and they told me that I needed to wait until my promo period was over (11/28) before they could see.

Sunrise, you may wish to try calling - I was really pleased with how well the conversation went and how easy the analyst was to talk to.
