Express/Victoria Secret Comenity- love button = hard pulls

did my regular monthly love button presses. Yesterday resulted in hard pulls being sent to all three bureaus for both cards.

Awesome!

First time theyve ever hit me with hard pulls not even when opening them lol.

Perhaps they are trying to discourage this behavior now, Did you get an increase?

Well, that stinks! Sorry that happened to you. I pushed V/S love button last week and called Overstock number on back of the card. Haven't seen anything yet about a HP. So hopefully I'm safe. Guess that's always the chance we take.

That is troubling. I wonder if it was bad luck or if that is their new policy. I've been thinking of letting my JCrew stay where it's at for now. $5150 is a pretty cool limit, and it's definitely not worth risking an HP because the most I'm likely to spend on the card is maybe $100-200.

If you want to make sure existing creditors can only SP you, freeze your reports. Existing creditors do not need an HP and get the same info from a SP.

I can agree with this, If your reports are all open then they are fair game when you request more credit no matter what.

This is semi true, an existing creditor can sometimes get thru with an HP but in general a freeze will stop new HPs from being able to get thru.

Anytime you ask for a CLI, you should anticipate/expect the potential of a HP. I imagine they want to discourage people from hitting the "luv button" 30 times a week. This is not a rude remark against OP, just a general point. We all know we aren't getting a CLI every 3 days, so there's little to no point in hitting the button constantly.

not sure who is pressing any button 30 times every 3 days(?).

As I stated before for the past 9 months on the 13th of the month ive hit my love button and received CLI's.

Another general point- dont lick the bottom of your shoes 1-10 times a day or god will make you sick to discourage you from doing so. not being rude just another general point that has no relevance.

Haha, I know OP, you didn't abuse the button. There are plenty of people on here who hit the button nonstop. Lurk long enough and you'll see what I mean.

It is relevant -- a HP is permissible when you are asking for credit line increases. Just because Comenity historically doesn't HP for them doesn't mean they never can or never will. Good luck.

another thread started under credit apps guy got HP for VictoriaSecret too lol. im done with comenity SCT cards and cli's if they are going to do HP's as i dont use brylane home, victoria s, express etc.

I hit the luv button in July for NYCO card and they gave me hard pull on Experian report. I got an increase in July and one last week again but this time it was soft pull.

Then hit it for VS last week and got an increase with just a soft pull. I think they needed a fresh report from me who knows. I am going to leave them alone until black friday time.

I continue to get SP CLIs with frozen reports.

do you just call bureaus for a freeze? will it effect my NFCU CLI requests ?
