Does anyone know how long you have to wait before you can PC with Amex?

I want to switch from the Amex ED to the EDP. It hasn't been two billing cycles yet so I wanted to know if that is too early. Also, do all issuers have the same rules when it comes to PCs or do they vary?

13 months. Something about the CARD Act and not being able to change your annual fee within 12 months of opening a card.

You can change within No-AF cards at the lender's discretion (Capital One allows you to PC from Platinum -> QuickSilver within 6 months, if you're eligible). And Navy Federal Credit Union allows you to PC immediately, again, at least with No-AF cards.

13 months if you are going from no-fee to an AF card (or in any way changing the annual fee). This is due to the CARD act as mentioned above.

I believe that going from AF to no AF is possible before 13 months, but not sure. As mentioned above also, it's really lender's discretion outside of the CARD act rules. Some allow changes sooner than others. All you can do is call and ask, but if you're going from no AF to AF, the answer is legally no before a year has passed. Your only option if you don't want to wait is to simply apply for the AF card.

It's pretty much 13 months seeing that you can only change from AF to non-AF cards in most instances. You can do ED->EDP, BCE->BCP, and you can change throughout the Delta Hilton and SPG cards. Since the Delta and SPG card have the same AF now, perhaps it's sooner?
