How does opt in work?

hello gang!

I have read lots of threads and forums about opt-in. I was wondering, if you opt-in do you get pre-quals and pre-approvals from companies?

Is that how people get pre-quals from prime lenders in the mail?

Does opting in update your info with the credit bureaus (current address and phone number etc)

does applying and getting a credit card for a certain place automatically opt you in?

You will also be eligible to use the SCT for Comenity backed store cards, with all of its bad points and its good one.

Your CR scores and profile really dictate if you will get the pre-qual offers. Being in the 'opt in' mode says you are open to receiving offers.

I think that you only have to opt in if you previously opted out. Otherwise, you should be on everybody's lists.

I opt-in about 2 months ago and been getting more offers by email than mail.
