Chase Amazon 10% Rewards Bonus Email

I just received an email from Chase about this. Activation is required, and it looks like it's only for "select cardmembers." Has anyone else gotten this, too?

That's a nice offer!! I haven't received it, but I'd certainly like to! If they offer things like this from time to time I'll be more inclined to keep the card. I've been planning to cancel as soon as it reaches one year old (roll limit into my Freedom), as I've not been touching it.

Seems pretty weak to me. Instead of 3% at amazon it's now 3.3%. Yes, better than nothing but still not the 5% , Discover, Freedom, and the store card offer.

Oh... did I misunderstand this? I just assumed it meant you'd get 10% back on Amazon, but it's only 10% more on the normal rewards you earn? If that's the case, disregard my previous excited post.

oh 3.3% thought I read 10%.. Let me go back and re-read.

Ya I think I misread it.. so 3% + 10% so 3.3%? If so SM or Freedom for me or for those with Amazon store card then use that.. Otherwise if you have the Amazon card it is better than nothing

Pretty under-whelming. If you have Sallie Mae this doesn't beat it and if you have Discover IT with cash back doubled at end of the year you will have had 6 straight months of Amazon purchases for 10% (July-Dec.)

As someone with both of those cards none of this is really that great, but I can see being excited at getting the 5% for a year if you didn't have SM or Discover IT.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 5% on this offer isn't capped...

I just got this 5% offer. Since it isn't capped, I think I'd take it over Sallie. However, Discover still trumps for the next several months.

Moving my Chase Amazon list to one of my other cards is on my to do list. This ALMOST made me think I shouldn't. But looks like I'm still good to go (and I didn't get the offer anyway.)

That 10% is deceptive.. still sallie mae and amazon store card is better.. oh and not to mention the king right now of Discover with actually 10% CB when doubled in a year.. (if you got in on the sign up.)

Yup, I do have that Discover deal as well It's definitely still the better deal, but I thought I'd share this one nonetheless since some folks don't have the Wonderful World Of Discover

Of course, if you use it through the "Giving Assistant" shopping portal, you should get another 5% at Amazon
