How Do Credit Cards Update Your Credit Report?

My BoA credit card had a limit of $500. My CL was increased to $2000 around last Sunday. When I checked my credit reports today it still showed the $500 limit and the last day of update from B0oA was 8/1/15. Does anyone know why they wouldn't automatically update the same day of every month? Meaning, if they updated my informaiton on 8/1 why didn't they update it again on 9/1? Do all companies update monthly?

Usually updates are monthly, though sometimes they can fall behind, up to months. When it comes to CLIs, sometimes those seem to take longer to report than balance updates.

Credit cards generally only report once a month, usually a few days after the statement cuts.

Chances are it won't show until your statement cuts not many lenders updates CLI's when you receive them

I don't know if ALL do it monthly, all of the companies in my signature do. BooA does too. However, CRAs can take a few days to reflect the change. The reporting date on the report is when a data provided provided data to CRA, not when it was made available on your report.

All great information....I never thought about the fact that the CRA could be behind instead of BoA. I'm just anxious to see the small change to my scores. I also got an auto CLI from QVC last month as well.

They do update the same day every month. Except on your report. They just state the first day and the month. but the actual date would be the same each month. example you can apply for a card say on the 14th of any given month. It will say your open date was the 1st of that same month. but the real date is still the 14th.
