This is my lowest limit card at $300. I tried to recon the starting limit 5 months ago when I got it. No go. I'm considering closing it since I believe it to be not worth growing. As I was surfing the account page I saw the luv button. I would consider keeping this card open another 6-12 months for utilization if I could get an increase with out a hard pull.
Has anyone attempted an increase on this card yet? Was it a hard or soft pull?

Okay so I went back online and started the CLI request. When I did, it specifically asked me for permission to pull my credit report!!

When was the last time anyone requested a CLI on this card? Recently? Did they ask you the same question when you did, and it was still a soft pull?

Thanks in advance

IIRC i wasted 2 HP's over the course of time that i held it and that's even going thru the EO route. After i closed it at 1 year i realized that their PreQual page offered much better cards that do make SP CLI's possible and such (better cards). I wouldn't expect much if anything if anyone is trying to make the GM Card grow for them. IMHO Capital One just doesn't seem to have much if any confidence in that affiliation with GM to offer any real progress for it and they should know. Just look at their other ones in comparison and draw your own conclusions.

FWIW I got a $5k SL on the GM Card October 2014, which was kicked up to $10,000 I think in December 2014 where it sits today. I do use it enough to hit the 5% / $5000 spend to book $250 a year towards a new car in the future.

Funny thing is I got a $5k SL on a Venture one card August 2014 which I have used a bunch and carried a balance during the 0% period and it sits today at the starting limit of $5000 - I request an increase every month on the Venture one and they always have an excuse. Both cards are paid in full today. Tonight I even went on Capital One "Live Chat" - totally worthless waste of time (told me to use the luv buttom). I don't even carry the Venture one anymore, it's probably on my 2016 chopping block list to close.

Capital One is just a strange company with strange lending standards.

No missed payments, good income, 30+ open and in good standing accounts, scores are all in the 700's, less than 5% utility with a balance on only two accounts (discover 0% balance transfer and a Lowes 84 month 5.99% special financing)
