Co-branded Chase PC'd to Chase Freedom possible?

I've searched the forums but haven't found any definite answers. Can you PC a Chase cobranded IHG, Marriott or Hyatt to a Freedom?

No.

ETA: the only notable exception (due to contractual termination is the Amtrak Rewards CC, but that's something Chase is doing on their own for current Amtrak CC cardholders)

Do you have other Chase cards? If so, you can reallocate the CL to another Chase CC - that you can do, just not the PC.

Ok that's cool! No I only have the Chase Freedom at the moment. I've been looking at the Hyatt , IHG and Marriot. I wasn't sure how useful they'd be in the future.

The IHG would have been handy while in Italy and just recently, if I owned one. The Hyatt could be useful around Christmas. I try to take a few small trips( in the states) during the year and one major trip a year. Not sure of my chances with even being approved for one. I do have a mortgage with Chase.

Ok gotcha. Both cards offer decent redemptions and fairly reasonable AFs past the introductory period. What you could do is if you decide to apply and get approved, decide which of the co-branded card would be a best fit (points/redemptions) for the properties you anticipate on staying. Both carry AFs and are typically waived the 1st year (IHG and Marriott tend to offer 80,000 points sign-up promotions from time to time).

You can test drive either card and then, if you want to keep it (depending on the loyalty program) you can, or reallocate the CL to your Freedom if it doesn't work out as expected.

The IHG is definitely the most *economical* of the two and both offer the annual free night opportunity (for Marriott, cat 1-5). The Marriott 80,000 offer is still available through the Marriott rewards site (limited offer/about to expire soon - $3K spend). IHG has a current 60,000 offer via special promotion link as well ($1K spend).

I would say, weigh the spending requirements and the accessibility piece for sure depending on which properties would give you the best value. Also, both cards have no FTFs should you decide to use overseas.

In my experience 2 can be done typically back-to-back, provided you haven't applied for any other Chase cards in a 30-60 day period. Now, more recently, I've spaced them out. For instance, I applied for IHG in the early part of June (approved) and within less than 60 days applied for AARP in August (approved). The reason for the spacing was due to the Ritz approval back in mid-December and United/Southwest a year ago this month.

Now, you can also reference 12njoy's experiences as well since he has had some recent successes with Chase applications in a relatively close timeframe. There's been other Chase avid lovers who have also had recent successes, such as ddemari and Booboo71

Most of the time, they can use the same HP but YEMV. Now, depending on your overall profile they can single HP or you can be double-pulled. When I applied back-to-back, mine resulted in one HP on EX (I'm in Ohio).

Oh yeah!! Ok..well I've had my Freedom since the beginning for June. I'm at the 90 day mark now.

I checked my CCT. They pulled EX and EQ for the Freedom.

Excellent news! I'm assuming you received the 7-10 day message on Marriott, correct? If so, let it go through the paces. Don't call, let them call you if they need verification. You can call the status line to check on the app #1-800-436-7927. Don't use your lifelines and call a friend This one can wait, if you're patient!

Did you use the IHG 60,000 points offer/link? Otherwise, if you applied from the Chase site, it's 50,000. No biggie, since they can likely have them match the offer if you send a SM after you meet the required spend.

I haven't submitted Marriott yet. Should I now or wait?

Infact now on the IHG site, if I hit the apply button, I get the same message.

Just tried the apply button on Marriott. It gave me the same message.

I would say hold off on Marriott if you've got approved for IHG and Hyatt was just submitted/pending. You'd need to space that one about 30 days from now to avoid issues. Otherwise, it may get auto-declined (no HP) since the system will detect 2 currently active applications (one approved, one pending).

LMAO..the Hyatt app was probably kicked out of the system then. The Marriott wouldn't allow me to apply at all. I believe I'm locked out after the IHG app.

Thanks again for your help! I suppose I'll have to wait on the other two.

Update, I went ahead and used another browser for hyatt. It's now pending.
