Capital One Payment Processing

Anyone that has a Cap One card I’m curious to know when you make a payment does your available credit increase right away or do you have to wait for the payment to process? To most people this probably isn't a big deal, but when you have small CLs like myself this little detail actually matters.

My CapOne payments post and process at midnight on the same day payment is scheduled, and always show available the very next morning, even if they are very large payments. Your mileage may vary. Hope this helps.

Mine does the same thing. As long as I pay by 8pm est, I always have the available balance the next morning on all of my accounts. The w/drawl from my checking comes out quickly too, unless it's a Friday pm payment.

Thanks for the answers everyone. I wish they would handle payments like AMEX does but at least it doesn't seem as bad as Chase.

I love my Capital one and how quickly payments process. Sometimes i make a payment at like 1pm, and it posts at 5pm! It's usually really quick.

It seems quick for me as well. Made a payment yesterday and it is showing today. I payed it from my CapitalOne360 account and it hasn't posted there yet, but the payment is credited already.

Simple solution woulde be to make multiple payments during your billing cycle. That's what I would do, just have to make sure you are not carrying high balances when billing cycle closes, in other words your utilization will be reported as low, they suggest it to be under 30%, however I personally prefer to have under 10%. That's the reason I made this post. I do/have to make multiple payments in a month due to my low CL.

Usually next day credit is available. Funds withdrawn from checking account a day after that.
