Concerns about setting off red flags when moving to a different state.

Only 12 more days and I will be changing address with all our credit cards, then unemployed for another month and a half, by choice. Utililization is low right now and all bills paid on time. Does anyone think the move to a different state will spook any of our credit card companies?

As long as you change address with them and pay on time as usual

As long as you're being dilligent and notifying them in advance, there should be no issues. Tons of people move accross state lines (or beyond) all the time!

I had the same fears as you. It took me 8 months to update my address to my house, instead of my parent's.

When I finally did it back in May, the only negative thing that happened was I lost all prequals - old address and new.

I'm guessing it takes a while for the lenders to believe that it's actually your new address. I still don't get any prequals, even for the Capital One secured card, lol.

Just moved to a new state 6 months ago. I would recommend that you change your post office address first, then bank, then cc's then everything else. No issues here, loved getting the coupons for the address change :-)

Oh and then remember your new zip code, lol! Took me forever to remember it for some reason and I kept having trouble at the gas station..........
