Surprised with Citi DC

Just recieved it today and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it is a World Elite Mastercard with silver logo! I always thought those were for CL's 5,000+ like the Visa Signatures? Mine is only 2k, but hey, I am happy about it

Heh, it's a little weird how they do this. My limit is over $5K and I still seem to have a regular MC. But then I can log into the Mastercard Concierge app, which might mean I have at least the World version. Who the heck knows.

Check the first 6 digits of your card number against the bin number database and let us know what it comes up as. I wonder if Citi is issuing WEMCs with no NPSL...

This has already been hapenning for quite a while, I believe.

My brother got his card as a WEMC for a 3.3k CL.

I believe everyone who's getting a new card this year automatically gets a WEMC.

You have asked the same question in different threads. My Citi DC was issued as WEMC and has NPSL. Others will likely need to get back to you on theirs (depending where you asked).

As far as other Citi WEMCs, the majority are also NPSL and report to CRAs as Flexible Spending Limit tradelines - examples: Dividend WE, TY Premier WE, Prestige WE, AA Executive WE... the list goes on.

It comes up as Mastercard, credit, issued by Citi. But no designations. But then I put in 2 Visa Siggy numbers and they simply come up as Visa. I don't think that site shows any designation beyond the network.

Yeah, I just noticed that too.

Interestingly, I checked all of my cards with binlist and the only card that had any special designation is my AARP, which is labeled "premier" under card category. It is a Visa Signature, but so are both of my other two Chase cards (and they were also originally issued as VS), and none of my other VSs, WMCs, or even my Double Cash WEMC ($1700 limit lol) have any special designation.

Mine was a 2.5k limit originally and came as a WEMC. Don't really care either way, but it's nice I guess.

Interesting....Does this apply if I ask for a replacement card on an existing account this year? I may have to call Citi.....

I saw a thread a few weeks back where someone requested a new card for it being damaged and noted it was now WEMC. I tried and received mine in the mail today and it is also WEMC.

Same results for me. Entered my Salle Mae, which is WMC. Entered my NFL and eBates, which are both Signature. All come up with no designation.

I just ran all my cards through the list and my Comericard was the only one which came back with a designation; Classic.

For fun I also ran my Walmart through it, it came back as Walmart!

I also did my Home Depot card, which came back as a debit card issued by Citibank on the Maestro network. It is a Citi issued card.....

I had mine replaced (because of fraud) a few months ago, and it still came back as plain MC.

Just curious...are people here wanting an WEMC 'just cause' or do you actually use the WE benefits? The only network-based benefit I ever used was Visa Sig movie tickets, but other than that, don't really care..
