nfcu auto CLI

i know that MOST people are aware of this but i was hoping this can benefit some new nfcu members or those that just simply do not know

if you have a card and want a better chance at an auto CLI you should call customer service, press * to go to the menu, press 6 to go to a CSR. then, once verified ask to speak to the credit card department and tell them to check the box to get auto CLIs. what that does is when they SP you every month if you are available for an auto CLI they will do it for you without you necessarily needing to hit the request for a CLI.

hopefully this helps at least someone so i can say i did my part of teaching someone lol.

oh, and don't forget to call on your anniversary with them for an annual SP rate reduction

This just helped me! I didn't know about this at all. I've been a member for about a year. I don't recall my anniversary date. I've gotten one cli that I called in to request. It was a big on. If I do the auto CLI will it still be those big cli jumps or will they be much smaller?

I just tried this and the CSR knew nothing about it. They put me on hold for about 5 minutes and then came back and said it would be another 5 minutes and I could not wait. I suppose I can try back later, but I dunno.

don't forget the part where you need to ask to be transferred to the credit card department. CSRs have no reason to know

I did that, they still didn't know. Not sure why.

This is great information.. I just finish a call with the Credit Card Dept and explained what I was needing and he said "No problem and I have removed the auto CLI block" if you become eligible when we SP your account you will get it automatically.

There is no waiting period for this to happen.

AFAIK, it does. When in doubt, call or SM. NFCU is good about providing information. Try not to rely too much on other member's experiences and observations.
