Cap One is really starting to irritate me

Got my QS in January. Got a CLI in March. Been hitting the CLI button several times a month, so I have a pile of denial letters that all read "there has been a recent credit line increase." Yesterday was six months since my March CLI, so I figured this time it would finally happen. Hit it, another denial. This time the letter reads "Your average monthly payment has been too low." Geez. I've been carrying a balance on the card - currently $1018 - since I have 0% APR right now. Been tossing them $100 a month. So, screw it, I just paid off $1000 of that. Left the $18 since it's my only card reporting a balance.

Now let's see what excuse they come up with.

Theyre a strange lender sometimes. But CLIs arent just given in exchange for x amount of time, nor are they ever guaranteed. We have to just use our cards responsibly and hope for the best. And remember that we are entitled to nothing

next excuse will be credit score to low for credit lines with cap1. This is what i am getting on venture/qs my new combo although i am over 700's.. granted they are using 2-3 month old reports(which they are famous for). That will be the next one, how other people have got increases after 2 months is a mystery to me, maybe cap1 is starting to be a bit more conservative with CLI's due to last quarter earning/losses or they just continue to hate me?. Granted they gave me a 20k venture and a 10k qs, so can't compain although other people have 4 of those and get them... anyways that is my next guess of the message you will get as they basically use EQ, so depending on how that looks that might be your answer. Just a data point put 3k through the venture in less than 2 months and over 1k on the QS in 2 months.

They are buried so far back in the VERY back of the sock drawer they may never ever again see light.

I got the same message for 5.9 months - then all of a sudden "recent use of your card is too low".

Fine with me Capital One, now tell me how NO usage feels

haha - I laugh at them; (and its not like I need a cli - on a card I rarely use anyway) but gosh, toss a girl a bone already.

Sorry Cap Is this your only CC with them? If not, can you combine them? I use to get all sorts of excuses, all the same one mentioned here already... I use to make multiple monthly payments, then I started letting everything post, and the statement cut on my venture with whatever the amount, and then PIF after sm cuts. So, my last SM had a ball of $1700+, I turned around a few days later and PIF, so they see usage, plus bigger payments.

Also, since i just combined mine, Im good on CL now, LOL..even I wanted to ask, I had to wait 6 months, becasue my combo was considered a CLI..

It's my only card with them. Closed my old QS1 right before they decided they would start allowing CL combines.

Did they seriously tell you that your combination was a CLI? I had suspicions that a combination might reset the 6 month CLI cycle! This is exactly why I waited to combine my cards.

Ya 13th of next month will get my 2k-4k CLI on my total rewards.. Make up for Cap1 lack of love... Met the bonuses on the venture/qs so to the sock drawer they go other than the QS for uber which it still can stay in the SD for.
