I am not sure. You can call and clarify but whats the big deal? The account number changing wont impact the card history in any way shape or form. So even if it does change its not going to hurt you.

Hi,

I have a question for you guys, I currently have the CS and the CSP. I am interested in changing the CS to the Freedom. The CS was my first chase card and I would like to keep the member since date. I also want to keep the credit limit and account number the same. Does it make sense to just change the CS to the Freedom or does it make sense to apply for the Freedom and have all three cards ? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

CS is just CSP light and makes no sense, convert it if the categories fit your lifestyle, otherwise apply when the $200 offer comes back.

No way around that, AFAIK.

There's no point in holding a CS and a CSP, in my view. The only argument for applying for a Freedom is the $100-200 bonus. If that is important to you, then apply, but if not just convert your card.

Why does the account number have to change ? I see people going in the other direction(Freedom to CSP) and keeping the account number.

If your card ever had fraud, even without a product change, the account number would similarly change. Nothing would be hurt by that though.
