So how do you get a CLI from Capital One now?

Do you just hope and pray for one?

I mean, the EO phone number no longer works (no idea about the email, though), and the online "Luv" button has never worked. I wrote them a message on Facebook, but their response amounted to, "Use the online CLI button", which as we all know never works. I wrote back and told them as much...their response, "You'll get a letter in the mail". Whatever.

I say this only bc it looks like you've already tried the social media route and thats what Ive seen others suggesting lately. But hopefully someone else comes along with different info.

Not sure why you say that the online button doesn't ever work. Did for me and has for quite a few others.

The best way is to open a new account and then combine it into your old account in six months. They will repeatedly turn you down for a CLI and if you apply for a new card the same day, you can get a new 10K, 20K, 30K card.

Why grovel for crumbs with the luv button?

The EO is not a source for a CLI. The luv button has worked for a bunch on this board, including myself. If they are comfortable extending you more credit, they will. If not, don't take it personal. It's just business! Nothing is guaranteed in the world of credit. If you start to expect things to happen you will end up pretty disappointed and will drive yourself crazy. Also go paperless so unneccesary trees aren't being killed

Is the luv button not working at all or is it giving you an answer you don't like (as in no)? That's two entirely different things.

I've had two accounts successful with the button and I've seen many other posters successful as well. On one account it worked right away and the other I had to try a few different times (within days/weeks) before it gave me one. Are you getting denials - if so, what is the reason? Knowing why they say no sometimes help to know when to try pressing it again.

The button works but generally at a maximum of once every 6 months. Time and patience are your friend.

Social media route has been more recently discussed as being a waste of time because it gets forwarded to the same generic CSRs.

If you really feel you need/deserve a CLI and its been at least 6 months, email the EO, and they will call you back with a PIN which allows you to return their call.

I pushed the Luv button countless times to no avail. Then I found out about the EO route a few months ago. I called themand, boom, $5K CLI a couple days later.

I just emailed the EO. I assume the email address I found on Google is the correct one since anyone who's ever asked for it on this board has never gotten a straight answer.

Do you need more than 15k on a QS when you have a a DC anyway? Unless your spend and income are huge id think that would be a decent limit. Plus that is near the upper end of limits on QS that ive seen. You may not get much more without reapplying and combining etc.

Maybe it is about usage? I got a 10K on the QS and tried the button 6 months or so after getting the card and the usual response was that my usage of the existing credit line wasn't high enough. After I had a couple of months of having (I think) between 2K and 3K of the balance used, I hit the button a couple of weeks prior to my 1 year anniversary with the card and got an additional 3K. I expect to not be able to get a CLI on it again for quite some time as I don't have that much spend for it.

I agree. IME, mine has worked as well. Unless OP is not placing the adequate spend on the card then I'm not sure why Capital One would need to fill the "void" by going above $15K.

I was thinking that your QS was far behind the other limits so thats why I asked about them. Looks like its in line with majority of your other cards. Any particular reason the increase is needed? Since you have a Double Cash and QS which gets the majority of your spending? Maybe its a usage issue, taking a guess.

The Discover Double Cashback promotion has taken quite a bit of spending away from my QS. Once Costco switches to Visa next year, my QS will be getting a lot more action.

I'm thinking of getting rid of all my co-branded cards eventually, but still want to keep my CLs relatively high in order to keep my utilization low, hence the need for a CLI to fill that "void".

Maybe the upper-end of limits that are normally handed out, but we have several forum members that have $30 - $50k Quicksilver cards.
