My Citi Forward had fraud on it. I think it was skimmed and duplicated because they were POS charges. One at a gas station for $24 that was approved and then at Kroger for $70 that was declined. They texted me immediately and sent a new card. However now they're trying to act like my account isn't in good standing with them because of the fraud and listed that as a denial reason on an app

Decided to make this thread out of curiosity. Most threads that I see about fraud usually state that they(the consumer) received some type of notification when the fraud occured. Whether it be a text, email, or phone call, there seems to normally be an alert that gets triggered. If you had fraud occur on your CC, did you receive any alert of such activity? Or did you detect it on your own? What CC and what was the outcome?

My first and only fraudulent activity happened on my Bank of America card. It was an unauthorized Zoosk purchase. They notified me immediately through text. The first charge went through, but the five attempts afterward were declined. I tried calling Zoosk to give me access to the account, but I was unsuccessful. Zoosk removed the charges, so BoA didnt really have to do anything.

As far as recent unauthorized charges instances go, yes. 2 Chase CCs - United & Ritz. Received both text and email alerts. Charges were in pending status (outside of normals spending patterns) and were cancelled and new card #'s reissued.

Discover IT . they called me about some suspicious charges (walmart .com shipping to a different state). I verified what was mine, what wasn't. No issue. they overnighted a new card and it was easy.

NOPE. Was not alerted. Instead, I was embarassed. Bogus.

Long story short, was at a boston store. Went to pay. Declined. Had to put charge on quicksilver.

Sat down, called citi bank. Woman said, we have a whole bunch of red flags and fraud alerts on your account. Basically 3 or 4 days prior I had added my DC card to my friends iphone to see if it would work, as I had attempted to add mine to android pay with no success.

I immediately removed my DC card after it was added. In fact just yesterday I got an email stating it was now added to apple pay and ready to use. Ok...then I go to click the message and their system throws a fit because I didnt clear out my cache or cookies. Only way I can access my citi account laptop is to use incognito window as my partner has a citi card. Whatever.

Anyway I think its bogus that citi waited for me to use the card, instead of calling and asking about the suspicious activity. I interrupted the fraud department and said, wait this wouldnt have anything to do with me adding and deleting my card from a friends phone in another state would it, once I said the persons name she was like yeahhh ok next time please call us before you do that. We are ok with you adding the card to a different name but you need to tell us if the name is different.

Point is, they should have called and stopped me from facing a denial at the register. And also what the heck is up with them emailing me weeks later telling me the card is added when it isnt?

Bank of America. Text alert. Small charge (something like 2 bucks). Cancelled account and sent a new card. Process was extremely easy and painless.

Last year I had fraud happen on both my Chase Freedom and my Cap1 QS. Both times I noticed the charge come up as a push notification on my iPhone. So I called the, immediately. Both times they credited my account and mailed me a new card with no problems at all

My Fidelity AMEX was a vicitim of fraud. I actually received a phone call about it. Called the number at the back of my card and took care of it.

I did call twice because the first CSR forgot to close the account, resulting two more fraud charges before it was permanetly closed and replaced with a new number..
