I've had it with Barclay's

I have a Barclays Reward card since 8.5.13; my SL was $2000, then at the yearly review I had racked up a lot of Inquiries so they CLR me to $1050, since then I have relaxed with the inquiries, never made a late payment for anyone, been reducing my debt, and only use their card to pay my ATT bill monthly and then pay it in FULL, usually before the statement cuts. I have 5019 reward points accrued. Then I notice today that my CL has been cut to $500.....WHY?

I called them and they said they have access to my report and upon reviewing it they felt the need to decrease me....she has no idea why and gave me a number to call on Monday to see if they will reinstate my limit. She also said I have a letter coming in the mail.

I currently have this months cell phone bill on it and am going to apply my points and pay in full. If they won't reinstate it....bye bye. There is NO reason for them to decrease me.

What's your current overall credit card utilization? Any individual cards with high util? How many new accounts open in the last six months? Fico scores? And are they trending up, or trending down over the last few months?

sorry to hear. Something caused them to reduce your CL, however it should not have.

I was denied for Barclays Arrival Plus a year ago, and I consider it a good thing. I never plan to app for any Barclays card again, because my profile would spook them at some point, so I'll just use regular CCC that know me.

Have you applied for a Capital One Quicksilver? It might be a good idea.

I have a quicksilver one that never gets an increase and a playstation with them as well. My limits are 500 on each. I tried to combine them and the guy said I can't combine a store card with a regular card....so playstation wont combine.

I'll get back to the others on the rest.

Fico scores? 667 per Barclays own site

And are they trending up, or trending down over the last few months? Trending up.

Ahhh, so thats why I cant move the Sony into the QS, guess Ill burn the Sony only got it for the 200 sign up bonus last year. I am not interested in their rewards structure. Thanks for posting this.

I had an pretty good experience with barclays today, i was thiking of downgrading or pc my AA aviator card. I got decent retention offer of waived af plus first $1000 spent would get me 5000 bonus miles not the best retention offer but very decent.

Discover with thier doble cash back bonus or city doble cash will accomplish the same as the rewards 2% on utilities.

I think #2 spooked them, as they like to see you paying down balances. Sorry this happened to you.

May I ask how many inquiries were acquired that caused the initial CLD? That may have factored in as well. If you have a young credit profile, that may also be a factor.
