Barclaycard Rewards

So I'm on my 7th statement with my rewards card. I still haven't received an auto cli. While I realize these things aren't guaranteed, I've yet to recieve any auto clis on any cards. Has anyone had any success with calling in and getting soft pull CLI's?

You can try calling in and asking for an APR reduction. Cal number on the back of the card, ask to speak to a retention specialist (I believe is what they're called) and ask for the APR reduction. If they do/don't have an offer on that for you, then proceed to ask for an SP CLI. But be sure it's only an SP.

Not too shabby. I got a $1,200 increase to $3,700 and my APR lowered to 17.90%. I also ordered the new design/ chip card. One other question, does the card not come in WMC or WEMC? The rep said it only came in the regular mastercard.

I don't know about WEMC, but it can definitely come in WMC as mine is a World MasterCard.

congrats and be prepared, that it ***might*** be a HP. Any customer initiated APR/CLI trick the last few times, have resulted in a HP to the person. Its been the concensus that the auto happens anywhere from 6-12 months, with the 7th & 8th months being the times they do the auto.

I managed to get a Barclays APR Reduction (via HP) by reallocating the limit on Rewards MC to open the 8% Ring.

Yeah i was ok with that since 13 months good useage/payment history w/ Rewards MC and not even a smell for an auto CLI.

I guess i need to get the APR reduced also, as this is my highest one at like 25%. Do you need to call the backdoor Eo #? Im still running on the CLI i got a year or so ago, on the lower credit Rewards card, they gave me a 40% CLI then.

I asked the retention specialist several times and she told me it was a SP. Hopefully it will all be good.

Honestly the visa sig/WEMC talk rampant around here is astounding lol. Unless one travels extensively, then the benefits they provide really don't make a difference. Although the visa sig and WEMC logos do look nice lol. Btw, the $5k line thing doesn't seem to apply to WEMC. I've seen WEMC with all sorts of SLs well below that. The lowest being a $300 Capital One GM Buypower WEMC.

I've seen a few post where folks mention calling to request a decrease on their APR and then asking if a SP CLI was available on their account. Some people reported having success with this strategy. Best of luck!!!

I have had my rewards card since jan 2014 and have not had an increase since I got the card .My CL is $8000 and I have had a 0% interest rate for 18months so I am not too upset about not getting an increase in credit line. I usually carry a zero or low balance on that card. However my Aviator card with a $15,000 CL and presently a $5000(will be paying it off soon) balance I just got an email -congratulations your credit line have been increased to $15,400. Not sure what they are thinking.

You have to be sure that you repeatedly and specifically mention "Soft Pull" CLI. The retention agent will check to see if your account is eligible for one...no hard pul required.

It was a soft pull.

When you make a request through the "luv button," through Barclay, it will always be a hard pull. Don't learn the hard way by pressing the button yourself.

If it was an auto CLI, then obviosly it is a soft pull as they have no authorization to go through your credit report without your authorization.

Congrats to the OP. I've read about the SP APR/CLI trick, but I hadn't heard that it could result in an HP. I guess it makes sense though, considering the usual risk that comes along with any customer initiated CLI. Fortunately my CL is more than sufficient, so I won't be calling in to try this. I haven't received any auto CLIs yet from Barclays, but that's ok too.

For a while, I was a bit obsessed with the Visa Signature\World\World Elite thing. Now I'm over it. The nicest thing (to me) about Visa Sig and WEMC is the logo. Those logos are nice looking. The World MC doesn't even have that going for it.
