Amazon special financing - how long does this promo last?

Is it just for a promotional period when you get approved or is this a permanent thing that when you make large purchases you get 0% financing for x amount of months? Same question for Walmart. Thanks!

Believe it's an everyday promotion whenever you make a large purchase. Same for Walmart.

The 6/12 month deferred interest financing is permanent for the life of the account.

Additionally, sometimes Amazon will run specials on certain product categories. Earlier this year I bought a $800 camera that has a 24 month deferred interest financing special on it.

Promotions are for the life of the account, as others have already mentioned. Same goes for WM card. For Amazon, you have the choice to take 5% off or deferred interest for 6, 12 and sometimes longer. I take 5% for purchases that I will PIF and deferred interest for the one I pay over time, still within the promotional time. Very convenient.

I don't think WalMart is an all the time thing. I have a card with a barcode on it that they have to scan if I want to use the financing feature, and the card says that the offer is only good for purchases that are made by December 31, 2015. So unless they send me a new barcode for special financing after this one expires, then it won't be an all the time deal.

Maybe so. I have only had the card since April so I don't know if they do a yearly thing or not. Anyway, it will just stay in my purse in case I decide to use it someday. So far, the WalMart card has done nothing for me except save me a few cents on gas here and there. lol

I think I read somewhere that cashiers keep a copy of the barcode at their register, so it probably is an ongoing thing and maybe they just issue those yearly or every 6 months. Anyway, it doesn't sound as if you're concerned about it in any case. Lol.

Nope. I have way too many 0% promo periods happening right now on cards that give rewards. I'll save the WalMart financing for someday when I don't have a promo period going.

Keep in mind the Walmart promo financing is for in store purchases only. The bar code is usually included in your monthly statement or look for the card application flyer in store by any register. The promo financing is also separated by tiers. Meaning the more you spend the longer the promo period.
