It's only $19.00 per year but is it possible to remove it permanently? I also have a Quicksilver Visa but I don't want to merge them since that means I would have one less account.

I got my AF waived by the EO. Mine was the QS1 and was $39. I had emailed the ceo about another issue and the eo office called me and in the process of that call I asked about getting it waived. I've only had it since June so doesn't seem that hard to get removed.

I was able to get my $59 AF perma-waived through the Cap1 EO after about 3 years on my Cap1 No Hassle Miles MC, although it almost seemed as though I had to jump through some hoops to do so, lol -- they originally didn't want to budge, but eventually acceeded to my request Although this was also before Cap1 had discontinued direct access to the EO line, so YMMV since not sure if the current EO works the same way as it did when I made my request earlier this year?

It's possible, but that would depend on Cap 1. Is it a regular QS MC or QS1? If it's a QS1, they may be willing to upgrade you to a QS without an annual fee. If it's a regular QS then speak with CS via chat or call and ask if it can be removed. There are some success stories of accountholders permanently removing the annual fee. If this is unsuccessful, you may have to cimbine to get rid of it. Good luck!

I'll just request for an upgrade to a regular Quicksilver One Mastercard when the time is near.

You're welcome. You want to upgrade it to a regular QS. Don't ask for another QS1. Also, check your account because there could be an upgrade offer available for it online.

I don't see a Quicksilver MasterCard application though. The only card that appears in the search engine is the Quicksilver One Mastercard. I had PC'd a Capital One Platinum card ($19 AF; no cash back rewards) through an online rep; he upgraded it to the Quicksilver One Mastercard. I asked him that I didn't want an annual fee but he declined. This occurred a month ago.

[edited] Okay, a regular QS MC; I guess next time I'll be more persistent with online chat.

Interesting... I just checked too and I don't see it. Honestly, I can't remember if there was ever an application for it. If someone else remembers please chime in. However, I know beyond a shadow of doubt that said card did exist because I own one.

If you can't get Cap1 to permanently remove the annual fee you have to 2 choices (1) close the account or (2) combine the limit with your other Cap1 credit card.

SN: I don't know how to black out information and add pictures to the forum. If I did, I would take a picture of my card. Best of luck!

My credit profile supported it. Honestly, even if my profile had not supported it, I still would have closed the account. They kept telling me to apply for another product and close the original account. I closed my account and did not apply for another product. I even told the rep to remove me from their solicitation list. I haven't received any mail from Cap1 since.

You have to weigh the pros and cons for yourself. I was also suggested to app for another card. I know I can get another Cap1 product, but like you the whole thing kind of turns me off to them. If they could explain why perhaps it wouldn't seem so bad. The card is in the SD for now. It's serving a purpose for my daughter who I added as an AU to help boost her scores.
