It is a fine line you walk with Barclay's.. They love BT's, but if you carry to much for to long then shame on you lol.. If I lost Barclay's as a lender it would barely put a dent in my overall credit profile athough I would miss my SM card. The amount of credit they have extended me is small in consideration to my other lenders. Diversify is your best bet as stated on this forum alot so you have options if one lender puts you in a "bad" situation. With that said I try to stil be careful cause of barclay's, but if it happens then an app rampage will ensue)

I've got a Barclay cc for almost 3 years now. Have almost maxed it out on occasions, paid ot full 75% of the time, and use it on general to it's full extent. I never got an AA, they even got me a cli earlier this year. Extreme credit seekers might see AA Barclay (as are many people in this forum), for regular users you don't need to fear Barclay.

Extreme credit seekers might see AA Barclay (as are many people in this forum), for regular users you don't need to fear Barclay.

Agree you are an ideal card holder for what Barclay's looks for.. Very few cards and they are your main card. Average MyFico person might have a bit more to fear as the typical person on this forum probably has 10+ cards.. That is just a generalization, as alot have fewer, but we kinda like our variety

The best description I've ever seen for Barclay's was by a Credit Boards member. He said that "Barclay's is like your girlfriend who always checks your phone messages when you go take a shower. She loves you, but she just wants to be sure."

I thought that was hysterical and spot on.

I'm more afraid of my wife with a rolling pin, but that's just me ...

I deposited at my Chase branch, and they didn't have an issue in taking it. I don't recall if they did or not a hold on it, but probably no more than 24-48 hrs if it would have been longer I would recall, but was only for $100. I also did one when I first opened the account, but don't recall if they did or not a hold on it was back in 2013. Anyways Chase will happily take one, no questions ask, and if they don't send you some you can order them online or by phone.

Barclays also combines inquiries. If your scores support it, grab a Arrival+ and snag a $400 bonus! The ring is a great card for debt shuffles. They seem to pay creditors FAST. Ends up costing a couple bucks each time, but well worth it.

There are other cards that are nearly like this, similar rate, just have to use the search feature.

Thanks so much, CreditCuriousity. I thought with the statement, "you choose the benefits," it meant there were items to select from - sort of like Discover. Should have known there was no such thing when couldn't find more info. Doesn't sound like a card I want.
