Just learned about CareCredit yesterday at the LASIK dr. My appt is 2 weeks from now (woo hoo!) and I only asked for the amount of the procedure (2200). Up to 18 mo with zero %. Pretty cool!

I'm assuming it's an installment account - not revolving. RIGHT? If it's revolving then I'm maxing out the CL they gave me, which I don't want. If that's the case I should call them and ask for a higher CL.

Anyone know?

I would think that it's installment, unless you have additional eyeballs that you might want to get fixed later. ;-) Have you got a phone # for CareCredit? what do they say it is?

Congrats on the LASIK. I had it last December--now better than 20/20, and before surgery, the last time I could read the big E was at age 15. I paid $3995, chucklehead that I am.

Thanks for the reply! ahha... I've always been called 4-eyes, so I guess I do have more eyeballs to fix! SOOO cool to hear about your success. Long story short, I won $1000 toward lasik at a recent health fair at work. I was waiting to do lasik for the past few years b/c I had debt etc - and now I've paid everything and my score is mid - high 6 and I've got great cards like Amex (Clear and Blue) and other great new accounts. I was so excited to do lasik on my own terms - qualifying for financing or using my Amex. It feels so good to have my good credit back and not to mention the nice prize money toward lasik. So it would have cost me what you paid - just wanted to make sure you knew that. Words can't describe how excited I am!!!!

I have that same account. I had LASIK done in April. My account is listed as a revolving account. I asked for the price of surgery and it showed 100% usage the day it reported. I would definitely ask for more. That price is really low, where are you located??

Thanks for your input. I know, I thought it was an installment too - which is why when it asked for the amount of the procedure, I put the real exact amount. I'll call them tomorrow to find out if I can ask for more, otherwise I feel like I need to use another cc so that I'm not 'maxing' out this care credit.

I'm in Seattle. The cost is offset a bit from the great prize of $1000 off - so I definitely feel very lucky. Are you happy with your lasik?

Hope you're having a nice relaxing Sunday
