JUNIPER CARD

I recently recieved my Juniper credit card with a 600 dollar credit limit. I have read some negative comments on different sites about this card. Before I activate this card, I would love some input from others about this card good or bad comments. Should I stay away from this card or activate it and keep it? Thanks for any input.

I have had my Juniper card since the beginning of June. I haven't had any problems with it. Their customer service isn't the best, but I do like their website. It's very easy to maneuver around and pay your bill. I usually pay in full, but I do like the low interest in case there is a month where I need to carry a balance.

I got a Junny SeaMiles at the start of my repair process and was approved for $400. To echo prev. poster's comment: CSR isn't all that great. I do have an issue with the payments. I found that if you make two payments within 2 weeks from each other, Juniper will reverse the funds from the first payment and put a hold on the second and keep both in a pending status for up to two weeks. It happened a few times to me, but in every case they would at least credit the payment (funds just aren't available).

If you already opened it, the damage is already done to your credit report (new account). Score-wise, there is no benefit in not activating it.

I have had a Juniper card for a while now and I must agree that they have terrible customer service, if you dispute anything it will take forever for them to even acknowledge it but overall their site is easy to navigate, you can pay easily and even ahead of time if you want (more than the balance or pending charges that haven't posted) which other banks won't let you.

The interest rates are a bit high and their TransRisk score (FAKO) is cool for the sake of being cool but relatively useless. As a main use card, I would say probably not a good choice but for a backup or failsafe, pretty good. Although be careful since they like to suddenly freeze the account if a charge posts without calling you about it. You will find out when you get declined and call in and they will give you some bull about it.

I got a BJ's Juniper card in April. I like it! They let one make multiple payments, and the cutoff date is consistent, so I can use it then PIF it each month.

I did call them once when I ordered some flowers out of state, and they told me they'd already approved it. Whereas I feel that brief cringe every time I hand over my Costco TC Amex, I feel that this card is going to be accepted. And so far, so good.

They started me at $3,000, so we shall see if any auto CLI is in order soon.

DW ($16K) and I ($8.5K) both have one with no problems. Pay multiple times a month from my bank accounts, goes through quickly.

Had a fraudulent charge that they recognised and they were quick to deal with it

I can't even fathom the issues llic is having. I've made multiple (several) payments each month since I've had the card with no problems. I got a high starting credit limit and %7.9 interest rate. It's my best card so far.

Now in fairness, I have been sending one payment only since early summer and haven't had any problems. I also found in reading these that someone posted that a Junny CSR said that it is SOP if your account is 4 months or younger. Maybe it is a YMMV thing

I have three cards through Juniper, and I move around the total available credit among them. My total CL is $7,500 of which $5,500 sits on the Best Western card. Ive had 2 of them for over a year, and the Best Western for about 6 months. Haven't had any problems with making payments and I sometimes make multiple payments within a couple weeks of each other. Likewise, Ive found the customer service & credit departments to be very friendly and helpful.

My scores are shown in my siggy, but I do have paid PR from 2004 and 2 COs from 2003. Nothing bad since and current utilization is around 25%. I got Discover and Amex cards (Disc More & Amx Green, Blue, Delta) back in April. Is that too soon to consider apping with them?

Like the OP, I've read some of the posts, but I'd still love as much info as anybody can give on this card.

So far, I really like my two Junny cards. One is the Platinum and the other is the US Airways. I agree that the folks at the customer service number on the back of the card are not the most helpful, but when I call the back door # listed on one of the threads in this forum, I get fantastic, knowledgeable credit analysts that are not afraid to make a decision. Just keep your balances low or pay in full and Junny will probably be good to you too.

Binks, somehow missed your post! Sorry for my duplicate here, but as I asked Sherrylynn, can you share your scores and report info, other cards etc?

I'm just trying to get a feel for whether or not they'd take me before I respond to the preapp. Also, don't want to risk the app and get a really low CL, would like at least as much as highest Amex which is $7500. My info is shown a couple of posts up.

The limit on my Juni is $1750, which is fine with me, considering I have a BK7 from 11/05. I kept getting offers in the mail for this and was skeptical, but the 7.99% rate and no AF convinced me to try for it. Now, it's my only card with no AF and it has the lowest rate. I'm planning on keeping this one forever. Hopefully they will give me auto CLI's, if not, I'll ask them after one year. I also find the website easy to navigate and have made several payments within a short time, no problems.

Wow! Not bad CL with an 05 BK on record! I've read on this forum that some CCC arent BK friendly at all. Hmmmmmm.......I might have to consider apping! But I wonder if some CCC would rather see a BK than other kinds of baddies? That thought just crossed my mind since I dont have the BK but I do have those other older "issues". And I'm a little concerned that my other new accts are just 6 mos old, although my history is 13 yrs and avg age is 5. Maybe it'd still be worth a try. Thanks for the info!!!!!

My situation is similar to SherriLynn's (BK in 9/05), and I was very pessimistic about getting approved for Juniper's MC because the only CC offers I had been getting in my mail were for crappy cards (the less said the better). I got approved for $400 in 9/07, got an automatic CLI in 3/08 to $900, and another auto CLI last month to $1650 (I pay my balances in full every month). I've never had to deal with their customer service (the web site does just about everything I need, except for one thing--under Benefits, every time I click on the Credit Score to find out what my FAKO credit score might be, I always get "Your Information couldn't be retrieved at this time. Please try again later.")

It was my Junny's day out of the cave (AKA SD) today to pay the power bill

Bastages made me call them to get the charge to go though-

Already set the payment though my CU"s bill pay-

I already lost my FAKO Transrisk score for this month for no activity-

I did find out my power CO takes Discover- sorry Junny- what can you do now? I can get cash back on my power bill!!!!!!!!!

Oh course while stuck on the phone I asked for a APR reduction and a CLI - No go and I was not suprised.

I've got the juniper/barclays backed ameriprise mastercard world elite. No problems at all 12.5k credit limit,tons of perks. Try that one it's a must have!!
