Youre right that AA definitely varies and what causes it for one person won't necessarily cause it for another. I also think people at MF tend to over stress about potential AA as we see many posts of people asking if they'll receive AAover the most minor of actions.

However, I will say one thing that I think gets overlooked. Never assume that because a creditor approves you for a new card or grants you a CLI that that somehow grants you immunity from them taking AA. In fact, often AAs happen after a new card or limit is added because that's what draws their attention and causes them to review your account. The credit analysts that approve new cards (if it's not the computer) and CLIs are completely separate from those that initiate AAs. One department can love you an entirely different one can bring the sledgehammer down upon your helpless body.

The Arrival Plus was the first card in the giant credit card lineup you see in my signature. The Aviator was my second.

I gradually proceeded to obtain every other card you see.

I've never had any AA from Barclays as a result of obtaining over a hundred thousand in additional credit after them.

In fact, just the other day, I got CLIs on both my Arrival Plus and my Aviator (asked for $25k for each and got what you see in my signature), and THEN applied for Hawaiian Airlines card and got another $9k.

Am I just on their nice list? Or what's this about them being so Inq sensitive? Just a YMMV thing?

it's YMMV because if they gave you CLIs then they obviously think you're good for it. don't worry and don't let other people's stories scare you from obtaining your goals

Like most AA threads, I feel there is little point in speculating or worrying about if it's going to happen to you. If they want to take AA, they will. If they don't, they won't. Minimize your risk by not adding a ton of new accounts/inquiries, keep your util down, and just live your life. That's all you can do. If they CLD or close the account, it's not the end of the world. They're just credit cards. Certainly not worth stressing or fretting about when the lender is not stressing or fretting about any one of us personally, I promise you
