Does anyone have experience getting a temporary limit with Amex? I had to call in with for verification the get approved with a 2k temp limit. Does it usually go up when you get the card?

As with anything, YMMV. My AmEx Delta SkyMiles Platinum had a temporary limit of $2k until I received the card and activated it, then it became $10k. You can usually see your final CL if you have access to your account online. Click on the "i" next to your Credit Limit and it will say what your final limit is too.

If you have an existing American Express, you can call customer service using that card and your new account can be linked to your online account.

My experience was:

Temp CL was $1000.00 and it did not change when I acrivated the card. That was about 2 years ago.

5 Months ago when I applied for the Delta Skymiles my temp was $2000.00 then $43,000 after I activated the card.
