How to make instant Capital One credit card payment so funds are available same day

I get paid on a Friday okay. The direct deposit hits my bank and the funds are in there around 4am.

Is it possible to set up a captial one payment for a certain amount even when it's not already in the bank, so by the time it transfers, it will all happen on the same day?

When you make a credit card payment it usually takes some days to transfer but I need the available credit now. I know it so the crazy but I need to move money faster than it normally moves. I move money quick, I spend quick.

So is there an express option, can I pay in cash in person? How do I get funds available same day?

RESULTS NOT TYPICAL But I know with a couple of my cards (Harborstone and Syncrony) I schedule the payment the day before I get paid, so then it goes my direct deposit then the payments. Check with your bank to make sure they would post this way as well.

I know that if you need to make a purchase you can call the number on the back of your card and speak with a rep, who will then get a manager to approve a payment and freeing of credit. I did this about a month ago when I randomly wanted to buy a new laptop. I charged it not knowing my available credit and got declined. Called up Cap1 and a manager approved a payment and made that amount available so that I can process the payment for the laptop.

Sounds like you need something like that often... not sure they would do it all the time, but it doesnt hurt to ask? Just my 2 cents...

I pay in a branch. But it doesn't typically reflect on the site until the next day, no matter what time of day I make the payment.

I don't think there really is a "same day" update to your account. But next day is typically sufficient.

It's worth a try I would say. If I could wake up and get paid and get my credit card paid and ready for use that'd be great. Anybody ever did this with capital one?

Capital One posts quickly and their on line payments clear the next morning. I believe if you pay by 5 EST the payment posts same day and is available in 24 hours.

I would just pay as you go. NEVER pay a creditor until your funds are available in your account.

I can't because I'm traveling overseas and I need all my money to be on the credit card so that I can avoid the 3% international fees on my debit card. I need to spend money THAT day. I can't go all of Friday with money just on my debit card, not being able to buy anything without international fees, while I wait for the money to transfer into my capital one for use on the next day...

Can you get a CLI? What's you CL that you have to consider this?

If my Citibank debit card didn't have international fees I wouldn't be worried. I wonder if they do waive the fees since it's a student account.

I'm basically just trying to avoid 3% international fees. I don't want a single fee.

As stated. The quickest will be the next morning. Even if you call them with your Debit card it will be available to use the next morning. if you spend that fast you may as well spend cash.

The account is less than a year old an the limit is 1,000. It's the low limit that's the reason why I'm always transferring money into it. You have to replenish the card often with such a low limit.

Hmmmm... open to getting another Cap1 card? I just dont think your scenario works...

Well Cap one loves that kind of usage. and multiple payments. So if the card is a year why is it only 1k?? is it actually a year. What is the exact age of the card? I started with a $500 card and was doing exactly as you did. and within 6 months the card was at $3500. and within a year $5500. in fact i expect another increase tomorrow. it will be 6 months since my last increase. thats why im asking as it should be time for them to raise your limit or you to hit the luv button so you don't have to keep pushing payments onto the account.

+1 Log on and hit the luv button if youre at 6+ mths.. or app a new card

It's not a year it's probably 4 months tbh. But yeah... Hmm they do need to raise my limit.

A new card I probably would get but however, it's not like I'll get the card and the account set up before my trip this weekend!!!

Hit the luv button. I got my first CLI at 91 days on both my Cap1 cards. Went from $500 to $1500 on one card and $1,000 to $3,000 on the other. CLI requests are soft pulls... go for it. Takes a couple minutes and you will get your results. Good Luck!!

That's what I thought. It's just too early. But you may get a semi increase not. And it will be good for this weekend. Hit the luv button now. Nothing to lose. Log in. Go to account service. Request increase. Put in income and rent payment. Boom. They will say yay or nay. If not. Wait 2 months. They will give you automatically

Well technically capital one payments DO post the same day. Well not even technically, but literally. The only think you're waiting on is the credit to be available on the account which happens around 8am that morning.

Soooooo...

Hmm my paycheck posts to my account at precisely 1:00am on Friday. There are no funds available in the account before then. And I know that if I would make a payment to capital one before 8pm, once the funds were available, I would get any benefit from that until Saturday morning. So how can I get the benefit on Friday morning instead of Saturday morning.

Only one way I guess. Pull the money from the account anyway. I have to schedule the payment a day before I get paid. I'm guessing my bank is either going to accept or deny it. It would be a returned check fee though I would think.

I can just do it and see what happens.
