Chase Consolidation and More Closures!!!

Decided to move my plan ahead now.

Closed my Zappos Visa and moved the $5k to Ritz making that now $25k

Closed my British Airways Visa and moved the $5k to Marriott making that now $10k.

Keeping Amazon Visa little longer for right now to think about that one $5k

and also keeping the AARP Visa for $8500

Wow you are really paring down CA! I'm on the fence about closing my Marriott and moving the limit to CSP. Such a hard decision!

You haven't had the Zappos that long have you? How long is the British Airways Visa been?

It's so useful in that Chase still allows moving limits these around.

Do you have to have that card some months like Capital One before doing it?

No, you can open them and immediately move the CL and close them.

I have had Zappos maybe 3 months and British I would say 4ish... I got the bonus on British and then have no use for it as my partner picked up one too and we will hold on to that until we at least use the miles and travel with them for the free bags and such and then decide.

good job, CA!! I have have one company right now I can do a combo with, and thats Cap1. I may have to wait 4 more months from my last combo, but Ive decided Im doing it. Also, Come january, Ive got 11 store cards that will be closing. Theres 3 I'm on the fence about, so that number could easily be 14 ugh!! good job to you though! My closures are obviously store cards.

it's funny now that I've started closing, I'm kind of getting addicted... it's just too bad I don't have the urge to still apply for new at same time... but I have practically gutted anything under $2k for store cards and under $5k for Visa/MC.

I like the ones I can consolidate!

see thats where Im gonna have the issues CA... YOu know my limits on my store cards!!! They are HIGH!!! But, in all reality, I really dont need them all. It was a challenge to see if I could get them back after my BK, and of course they gave me even single one back, PLUS like 20 more , LOL!!! And my limits on those cards or 3-6x what they were when I had them before BK!. Ugh....decisions, decisions!!!

Yes I did... Couple weeks ago when I moved cl she asked about baddies on report and such.
Today she put me on brief hold and came back and said all done with no questions

Total cards I was right at 100 I believe and now I'd say I'm closer to 75-80

Is there a target number of cards? Or you're just dropping one card at a time as you see fit?

Closed Wyndham and moved CL to Ring for 19,750 CL on that. I hate odd flipping numbers!

Good job but how do you manage to keep up with all of your CCs? Have you had any AAs for having that many CCs?

Also, have you noticed a decline in your credit scores after you close accts?

I don't use most of them but once in a while.
Barclay was on as for inquiries and to many new accounts.
No my score isn't changing because I'm at 1%... Under $10k reported balances

Ahh...so simplification is not the idea. The "weak stuff" just doesn't give you a rush anymore...

Every find yourself buying a lot of junk to keep all those cards from going inactive?

I've mastered shopping clearance at West Elm for under $5!
Some I've never used (restoration hardware, z Gallerie)
I just don't worry about the store cards

Ya I will be avoiding calling them to move any of the CL's around in the near future as I don't feel like talking with lending with alot of my new accounts reporting and still some badies I might have to explain. Want to move some of my CL from my Hyatt being 7500 to CSP, but that will have to wait
