well just called the number on the back of the card instead of the backdoor number and CLI was available at a fee!! but don't think there was pull.

I really dislike them!

Cap1 however gave him $400 instantly. YAY!

Man I hope they don't do a hard pull. I just called and got a $3500 CLI but can't afford the hard pull right now as I am wanting to get a home loan and need to increase my Fico score a bit more before I apply.

Funny thing is, last week when I requested online, I was denied! LOL I thought I would try a call on the phone to a real person and it worked!

I have a 'better than bottom feeder' HSBC card (not the Discover), and did not get a hard pull when I requested a CLI from 4.6k to 6k. Again, miracles do happen.

I've got one of their better cards, hit the Luv Button, got the 3 day message, and totally got a hard pull on EQ. They did give me $1500, though, taking me from $7k to $8.5k. The prior two Luv Button CLIs were soft pulls and an instant decision. Happy for the $$$, not so happy for the hard to get it. Oh well.

I must have the "Scum Scraper" Card..... I called just to see what I could get and

First she pulled my credit report (with my permission of course)

THEN she told me it would cost $20 (I knew there would be a fee)

THEN she told me it was only a $200 increase.

You know the least they could do is send you a copy of the credit report they pulled for the $20!

For those of you who received a CLI w/o a hard pull, did you still have to fill out the form asking what you want the CLI for and the amount? The reason I ask is that the Lowes website allows you to request a CLI and says the same thing about it may be a hard and to press submit to continue. However, when I did this, I got an offer right away and did not have to fill out any info. Does it mean its a hard if you get the screen to fill out all that info? Did anyone just get an offer from HSBC after clicking the submit button?

I have filled out the form via the button on the website twice now. I did not get a hard inquiry, nor did I get an increase. That account was opened in January and was granted a small increase when I activated it. It's the 2% CB and I use it to put the rent on and PIF. The decline letter said it was due to utilization. (I would expect they mean the account since my UTL is less than 5% over all, but about I put 700 on a 1900 CL) As always, YMMV.

Congrats to all of you who got CLIs. I am always shocked to hear someone did. My HSBC M/C and Discover card do not even have a CLI option online. I think it is because they were Direct Merchants cards. I do not log into my accounts via HSBC's website. I go through accountcenralonline.com and nowhere is there a CLI button.

You never authorized it, so you should not get the pull. I did the same thing with my HSBC Orchard and never got a pull. I really want to try for a CLI with them but I don't want the INQ.

Same situation with my Best Buy Mastercard (HSBC) I called for a CLI and she did not know if it will be a hard or soft, so I told her no. Haven't had an INQ in 5 months, I really don't want one.

earlier this month i received a $500 CLI on my Best Buy store card making it a $1000 CL. I just called the number on the back of the card, no backdoor #.

WOW....I called up, BB MC and tell them I want to try to get a CLI and he says OK, asked me my monthly income and was told sorry declined. Now I know I am not a rich man, but I am not a poor man either. FICO scores are decent, jumped about 50 points since I first got the card. I just pulled my CRs and it is not showing any new INQs.

Guess what....a $300 CL is not worth a $59 AF. I have over $22,000 CL with BoA with no AF. Have several other CCs with a couple of thousand CLs. I don't need their card. Before my AF comes up in March I will be canceling this card!

If you threaten to cancel they will waive it most likely.... If its an old TL I would try to salvage it. Nice CL with BOA, I have managed to get my personal card up to 13k, been with them for a year, and my APR (after sweet talking hot sounding lady sup) to a fixed rate of 7.99 from 9.9V. I was told they dont give fixed APRs anymore, well I got one! Thats really all I need with them, I have 16k with HSBC GM Card. (10.99V) You may want to try applying with them if you have no recent inq and your util is low. They like five year or older for prime products from what I heard, to get high CL. They seem to be income dependent.
