Odd AMEX CLI situation...

I was going to let this go, but it's been irking me all day so I'm posting this to see if anyone has any advice or if this has happened to anyone else.

I activated my AMEX BCE yesterday, an automated message asked me if I wanted a CLI, I said yes and was asked to input what I would like as a CL. I input $3,000 & was told "Congratulations you've been approved for $3,000, the CL will show up in 15 minutes". Here's the odd part - I was then transferred to a representative & I ask about the CLI, he tells me that I was not approved for the limit but I was approved for $2,000 (which I'm grateful for). After speaking to three different representatives (all with different titles) I'm finally told that if I didn't receive an email or if I didn't record the automated message telling me I was approved for 3K there's nothing they can do.

Thoughts or advice? Again, I'm glad to be in with AMEX, I just found this situation extremely odd.

Record the automated message? That's a good one.

Well, hopefully the CLI shows up after a bit of time passes. I'd let it go, see what shows up. Obviously, from all the calls, the CSR don't have a way to see the CLI.

If nothing shows up after a week, it may be worthwhile to just go through your AMEX web account and request a CLI there.

Good luck! The good news is, before too long, one way or another, you'll have that CLI

Congrats on your CLI. It looks like they countered your initial CLI request of $3,000. Don't let it irk you as most CSR's aren't always on the same page when it comes to knowledge of their own products and services.
