topic I can't be an AU on my husband's Amex because IIB? in Credit Cards

I just read that you can't be an AU on someone's Amex if you ever defaulted with them. I included them in BK 3 years ago. Strange they're the only creditor that seems to do that.

They're probably not the only though I can't think of others off the top of my head. Nothing strange about it unless you assume that all creditors are identical (they're not).

Hang on......my DW is an AU on our Sons Amex and she settled a debt with Amex for less than full amount owed in 2011. She had no trouble being added to the account as an AU. While it's not a IIB, she did burn them just the same. Is there a difference ?

Credit wise I don't think so. It says AU has to be over 15 and never defaulted on an Amex. Hmmm
