Buh-Bye OpenSky!

Just closed my OpenSky secured card this morning!

Unfortunately the deposit will take 4-6 weeks to arrive and my AAoA will take a slight hit [after 10 years ], but a nice $300 check after Christmas will be more than welcome!

Phase 1 of my credit journey is complete, time to use Discover and AMEX for the next 6 months and hope for CLI

Congrats. And your AAOA will not take a hit. Closed cards remain on reports 10 years. 😃

Congrats! I dropped mine over the summer

Btw, mine still reports as open to the bureaus with a $0 CL

FYI for those who are interested in how long it takes OpenSky to return your deposit: it took exactly 4 weeks to receive my deposit back.

It took me the whole 6 weeks to get my deposit back. Took another few weeks and an email to get my credit balance back.

I closed it in August and it still reports as open.
