USAA CLI button?

I'm a little confused because I THOUGHT the change CL button didn't appear if you weren't eligible. It doesn't appear for my WW Amex which is only about 4 months old BUT, it does appear for my RA MC & my VISA despite getting CLIs 2 months ago.

I'd like to use the Amex to benefit the Wounded Warrior program as much as possible

Depending on the product, it may or may not be available for some profiles depending on account eligibility. Keep in mind, you can still request a CLI via phone (if the system allows it), but regardless of which method you choose, it will be a HP. There are no SPs for CLI for any of their cards unless you receive an auto-CLI.

if the card is less then 6 months then the cli button will not be there until at least that time frame.

I thought it disappered if you recently had a CLI, too?

Not necessarily. It may just display an error that your request cannot be processed at that point in time.

Yeah, that HP for a CLI with them is a bummer...

They are a good, solid bank with decent cards (and great checking) but this is one thing I wish they would change. They clearly do ARs on a regular basis, the only reason to do an HP for a CLI request is to discourage folks from seeking one unless it's truly needed, in my opinion...

Right. But once you've established a great track record with them, they are very generous. I have two AmEx CCs with them and I have reached their maximum exposure but they grew pretty fast - $50K combined across all CC products is the max in case anyone is curious.

I have one card with them stuck at $4k and I don't use it a lot as a result.

HP's are a small factor though they tend to have a bigger impact those with thinner profiles and profiles that are not in shape. I requested CLI's on my USAA cards not too long ago and didn't really "need" the additional credit aside from utilization padding which, in addition to AAoA padding is why I keep them. The rewards aren't worthwhile to me but the limits are sufficiently large and they are among my oldest cards.

I agree with your assessment of USAA cards, decent CLs but, poor rewards. I use the WW AmEx to aid that program. I've never been offered the 0% APR except as a BT option.
