Cap 1 World Mastercard, Visa SIG ???

I still dont understand which CAP 1 card is world mastercard or Visa SIG, Could someone explain these please? There is platinum, QS1, QS, Venture 1, Venture. How do you go about getting a world mastercard or visa SIG? Thanks...

The first way to get a visa sig is by getting approved for a car with a limit of $5000 or more. If you get approved for less, you need to wait until your limit is increased to $5000 then ask for a product change. For Mastercard you either get approve for their GMC World Elite Card or wait until your limit is increased to $5000 and ask for a product change.

Are these Cap 1 top of the line cards? What benefits do they offer? Are these tied to car loans? Sorry for so many questions...

Your prime personal cards from Cap One are Quicksilver Visa, Venture and Venture One Visas. They are all signature cards, AFAIK. Normally, these are $5k minimum SLs, but I've seen some Venture One at less than that.

It's entirely possible to get a V1 or QS under $5K. So just because you're approved for them doesn't necessarily mean they are automatically signatures. The only exception is Venture because the minimum approval is $5K so that will automatically be a signature.

Cap1 doesn't issue the quicksilver in a world mastercard form straight from application (to my knowledge.)

Those of us who have them (for the most part) have older cards that were PC'd to a quicksilver, and then were given world mastercard variants.

When I was approved for my Quicksilver Visa with a $5k credit line, it came as a 'Signature'. Quicksilver Visa cards approved with a credit line lower than $5k are issued as 'Platinum' accounts.

Honestly, though, being 'Signature' or 'World' isn't that big a deal... they swipe just the same, and unless you like high-price hotels it's likely you won't benefit from the "upgraded" card anyway. I honestly get more use out of my non-Signature cards.

One exception to that statement was back when there was a Fandango promotion going on that would let you get 2-for-1 movie tickets once a month... many 'regular' folks could take advantage of that, but that promotion has expired.

It's much more about higher merchant fees and marketing a luxury image than it is about providing consumers with real benefits. Visa Sig has a potentially good extended warranty feature, but it comes with a lot of restrictions (as most card-based warranties do).
