This is crazy what going on ????

Hi,

I have a Costco AMEX CARD so i called them couple days ago to get limit incress, but they denide me for stupid reason and unaccurate info they go buy on th e credi report.

Well they denide me and today I went a head and applied for a new BLUE AMEX CARD and well, well they approved me after deniding the limit increase on my Costco Amex Card I am very very confuse and they approved me for even higher credit limit on the new card.

I was schocked to see that.

What you guys think ?

Well it could also be due to the fact that as of next April the Costco AMEX won't exist anymore. But what do I know.

Willing to bet they just want to retain you as a Amex cardmember in the case that they actually sell the TE portfolio to Citi..

No problem. You got what you wanted. A BCE card to replace your Costco one and a higher limit on your new card. In late March Citibank will match your current Costco Am Ex limit.

Two cards, good limits. Congrats.

I'll restate what I said above..

Amex CLI requests are based on their last account review.

New apps are based on a new hard pull.

Something in the OP's profile changed/improved between the last account review. That previous account review / soft pull is what was used when the credit line increase request and subsequent decision was made. The new application (which resulted in a positive outcome) was based on a new hard inquiry and current report.

Sounds to me like you need to pull all your reports and verify that they're correct. When was the last time you did this? Are you routinely checking them?

What happened doesn't sound too crazy or out of the realm of possiblity for reasons already stated in this thread. You need to consider what CLI's are based on versus new applications as stated above.

Thanks all for all the reply.

I pulled my Fico credit report 11/17/15 the score 727,725,720

I applied for the limit increase on the 11/18/15 and I received the denield letter in the mail saying my credit score 692.

On 11/30/15 I went online on to my old Costco Amex account to check some chargers and I so a box saying you are pre aproved for a new Amex Blue cash Card with $200 back after you spend a $ 1000 in 3 month so I just click on the box that said ADD a card and had me agree to their terms and this and that I don't even know if it was an actual application and seconds later I got a approval and they had me setup the scond account and I received a message with approval on my phone also.

They have ben trying to get me to do this for couple month now so I figure out if I am loosing my Costco Amex card very soon my be I should just get a new, and wait for Citi to take over my old Amex account, and I will have total of 3 cards.

I still yet to hear from Citi if they are taking over my Amex account or not, I think they well because I have a good history with Amex card and I used the card a lot.

Finally I received my new Amex card with high limit than my Coostco Amex one.

Now Discove card want me tp apply for their card .

I have total of 3 credit cards and one store card . One card will be close somtime next year so I really don't now if I need to apply for Discover card or Citi card with Costco.

I am trying to build my credit back.

What you think last time I checked my credit range 725-727 /

Wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't have to do with the AMEX costco relationship ending. Otherwise doesn't seem logical. I bet they are trying to get people to drop those Costco cards.
