Comenity closed ALL of my accounts

Well, here we are again. Comenity closed all of my accounts with them. Never had a missed or late payment. My only really new account with them was my new Virgin America card which hasn't even reported yet. I have been checking them daily after reading reports on here about this happening and today was my lucky day....

Closed accounts:

Sportsmans Guide Visa

Fuel Rewards Mastercard

Virgin America Visa

Overstock

HSN

Wayfair

R.I.P. cards. I hate to say never but I will NEVER do business with Comenity again.

Geez. I totally understand how you feel OP. Just scratch Comenity off your list. There's plenty of other fish in the sea. I've learned to not get attached to any of these lenders. It's all just business. And it's their choice to conduct it however they choose to. Our choice too! 😉

Comenity's turning out to be kind of a jerk these days.

They could at least just turn off your ability to spend then let you close it on your own to avoid the "closed by lender" notation.

Sorrry to hear .. When did this happen today or happen a few days ago and just noticed?

Comenity is just doing business as other stated although the way they are doing is pretty crappy. They are byting the hand that feeds them in some cases. Wonder how many other innocent non MF people are getting hit by this as well and saying W.T.F did I do? Not there fault comenity has 90% of the store cards. Comenity is just as much to blame as the borrower w/regards to this. Get rid of the SCT Comenity if you are listening as this is part of your problem if you haven't realized yet. If I was the merchant aka Overstock, Wayfair, VA, I would kinda of be mad at Comenity if they realized what is going on as this hurts their bottom line as well and teaming up with Comenity to offer CC's.

Are Overstock, HSN and Wayfair store cards? I thought they were not closing store cards. I don't have any of their cards but I still think it's awful.

Store cards are being hit now as well.. Originally it was Visa/MC's but appeared recently to have spread

I am curious what your CLs were and length of ownership?

I hope this hasn't inconvenienced you but, as I've stated in other comenity posts, it's no great loss. They really don't offer much when compared to most other CC lenders. They certainly aren't considered top tier. I've come very close to closing my accounts twice and will now think very hard on preemptively closing them now BEFORE they take any ridiculous AA!

This showed up today. I've been checking daily since hearing about this happening to others.

Luckily there are just a couple small balances to pay off from Christmas shopping on the store cards.

ah man...OP, SO soorry to hear this!!! UGH!! I know thats beyond frustrating, especially when the acts are in good standing with them.

What your total exposure amount with them between all your cards? Did anything change at all on your EQ? How recent was your VA??

Again, right before the holiday as well....pretty sucky if you ask me, and so sorry again!! Ive been checking my accts daily as well, as I hold 12 store cards with them, all currently at $0 bal because I PIF immediately after a purchase, but Im sure everyone is checking their accts too. If they arent , they should be, no one is safe so to speak.

Thanks this is why I am only putting $20 on each max of their cards.. if there is a good risk of closure I am not going to give them any business or be in risk of them closing with a balance and make sure I can pay it off instantly! They aren't going to get anything from me until this chaos is over

oh well, thats NOTHING!!! I have 70 on EQ just this year alone!!! plus 12 store cards with them. It will be very intersting as time goes on, because I have a total exposeure with them of over $100k!!

Op sorry to hear, that is terrible, and it's nothing to do but accept this craziness. Like pizza1 I hold 11 cards, a few Visa cards. All have zero balances now, PIF, but no one is safe from being closed. I just check my accounts daily and hope for the best. Next year many changes will come with my portfolio. This is awful, very sorry that this is happening.
