what will happen to the card once my prime membership expires and i do not renew?

i thought you had to be a prime member to receive 5% cash back for the prime store card?

I can see how the 5% would still stand, but wouldn't you lose the other benefits, such as free shipping and free movie streaming, etc? I get my money's worth for my prime membership.

yes, but the 5% is pretty much what i would want. and to use amazon while getting 5% without having to pay the AF.

2. Amazon Prime Members get 5% back (as a statement credit) on qualifying purchases made with their Amazon Prime Store Card, an upgrade from their existing Amazon.com Store Card.

Amazon Prime Store Card. On and after 3/1/15, at the time you become both (i) a cardholder of an Amazon.com Store Card and (ii) an Eligible Amazon Prime Member as provided below, you will automatically be upgraded to an Amazon Prime Store Card. Before 3/1/15, if you are both (i) a cardholder of an Amazon.com Store Card and (ii) an Eligible Amazon Prime Member, you will need to visit www.amazon.com/storecard and click an ‘Upgrade Now’ button to upgrade to the Amazon Prime Store Card. Eligible Amazon Prime Members may include, in Amazon’s sole discretion: Amazon Prime and members of their Amazon Household (excluding invited guests of an Amazon Prime account), Amazon Prime Fresh, Amazon Mom, Amazon Student and trial memberships of Amazon Prime. Semi-Related FYI - you can add family members to your prime membership at the same and other addresses (or at least you could in the past, and there's likely a limit). They don't get the streaming, but they do get free shipping. So maybe someone would want to kick in for your prime membership if it's not worth it for you to keep it alone.

I think they've finally put the kibosh on that... on my Prime membership, I have my father as a secondary but I no longer have the option to add anybody else, and once I remove my father, I won't be able to add him back.

The only option I have is to convert my account to a 'household' account... which isn't the end of the world, but the old (for me, grandfathered) way works much better.

As UncleB said in an above-post, this recently changed, I believe newly added folks to your Prime, must be household with same address.
