I like unlimited cash back on everything. I have a new Fidelity Amex at 4k (as well as Citi Double Cash and Discover it Miles). I'm wondering if I'll be likely to be approved for a Fidelity Visa in 6 months if I CLI the Fidelity Amex as much as possible between now and then? Or will FIA probably say they've already extended all the credit they're comfortable with for now?

After the first $15k a year, CB goes up from 1.5% to 2%. I've got lots of spending I can put on CCs. I like cash back because I travel too infrequently to make travel cards worthwhile. And my big spending is mainly outside of bonus categories, so rotating/gas/grocery cards generally won't net me as much CB in a year as a card offering me unlimited CB on everything. (The It Miles card isn't for travel, it gives me 3% CB for a year, 1.5% thereafter.) I may apply for the Chase Ink+ while I'm still under the app limit for Chase, though, and keep some points in reserve each year for a possible trip while cashing the rest.

Fidelity Visa is only 1.5% cash back. Those types of cards are fairly common, so there is no need to get one from Fidelity since you would eventually be splitting whatever the max credit exposure Fidelity is willing to extend to you over 2 cards instead of one. Plus you would lack diversity.

A few random alternatives:

FNBO Bucksback 2%

Citizens Bank Cash Back Plus 1.8%

Capital One Quicksilver 1.5%

USAA Preferred Cash Rewards 1.5%

Barclaycard CashForward 1.5%

M&T Visa Signature 1.5%

TD Ameritrade Client Rewards Credit Card 1.5%

Penfed Defender 1.5%

etc...

Hm, according to Doctor of Credit, there are several negatives to the NASA card lately, including denials if you have too many recent inquiries or less than 24 months of credit history, approvals resulting in a lesser card than the one you applied for, and cash back only awarded annually.

I've considered apping the Fidelity VISA, but for the sole purpose of combining the limit into the AMEX. 15k is much too high of a ceiling for 2% cash back when there are many superior products out there.
