So my fiancé is financing something and decided to open up Wells Fargo propel credit card. This one is the no annual fee one (didn't realize it existed until I looked it up). I had no idea he apped until the cards came until the mail and I seen one with my name on it (I'm an AU apparently). It's weird though..it has the same card number and it doesn't show up my Wells Fargo accounts page. I tried to activate it and I couldn't. All of our cards that we are AU on have different account numbers and we have our open separate log ins for our Amex cards. Is this just a Wells Fargo thing?

This is not a traditional Amex card issued by centurion bank, it is issued as a co branded card that uses the Amex network. So basically it's a Wells Fargo card, that is strictly run by Wells Fargo. Your Amex cards are run a different way as you already know. Other than Amex issued cards, most other,if not all AU cards share the same account number.

Not a fan of wells Fargo...

Basically, any payment from a non wf bank to the card can be held, especially if it is a large amount.

Case in point

Fiance has a platinum card.

Beginning of November she had a 400 balance. I sent 400 electronic payment from my bank

To her card account. They received the payment but would not reflect on her available credit

For 14 days. Check by phone payments take 7 days. The only way around policy it is to fax in paperwork

From originating bank the funds cleared the account.

Apparently high dollar payments get flagged.

Soon as I make the payment is available right away.

Correct... If the payment comes from a wells fargo account they are more than happy to credit whatever the payment is right away.

There are posts out on the wellsfargo community about this topic. Where they arbitraily apply the funds availability to the maximum allowed by law is for (What they term are "High Dollar" deposits) made electronically from another bank; Either check by phone of bill pay from you non wells fargo checking account. When you call WF customer service they say to fax supporting documents to the "High Dollar" desk.

What's funny is one can go down to a wells fargo branch make a "High Dollar" payment on their wells fargo credit card from a non wells fargo debit card and it credits available balance almost immediately.

OP - You're an AU on a wells fargo credit card, as opposed to an Additional Cardmember on an American Express card. The Propel card runs on the amex network, but is not issued by american express. Two different entities.

You're just an AU, so you get what is essentially an exact copy of the primary cardmembers credit card, but with your name written on it. You maintain no responsibility or ownership of the card, which is why you cannot login to it to access the account and/or make payments.
