Capital One Platinum upgrade to QS

I just recently upgraded my two C1 cards.On my Platinum card, I got my C1 Platinum card on 7/23/15. I started out with a $500 limit and started reading the forums, got excited then hit the luv button after my 2nd statement and to my surprise I got a $1000 increase and this was before my credit step was suppose to happen after the 5th payment. I recently called and asked was I eligible for an upgrade on my C1 Platinum card and they said they will upgrade me to a QS card with no fee. I asked them twice was this a QS 1 or QS and they said both times that it was a QS. My CLI on the platinum card is $1500 and I thought that I read on this forum somewhere that QS starts at $3000. Would I be wrong to assume that my credit on the QS would be raised to the min of $3000? What's the CL ranges for the QS?

I thougth the QS is a visa and the QS1 is a mastercard. All of their plat cards are mastercards and from what I thought is they cannot convert a mastercard to a visa card.

Exactly what I was thinking but I asked the rep twice and he assured me that it was a QS and not a QS1. I should receive the card sometime next week so I will update this post.

Update once you get the cards, I have 2 plat cards I would love to turn into a QS Visa but I dont want to lose the history. Both of mine are 5k CL also.

I would call Capital One to see if you're elibible. Whenever you upgrade to a new card, it's a soft pull and if you're eligible they will just convert your card to the new card with the same Credit Card #. Your history follows the Credit Card # and since this doesn't change it will follow you.

It's a Capital One Quicksilver Mastercard. It doesn't start at $3000. The Quicksilver Mastercard (versus Quicksilver Visa) is only available through a PC. I PCed my Platinum to a Quicksilver with no AF. It's a regular Quicksilver, just is a Mastercard, not a Visa. My limit is $500, so it is possible to have a lower limit.

I recently did this as well. Exact same situation as Op. Only difference is i waited till my credit steps cli show up ,after i hit the luv button. I hit the luv button before my 5th statement and got 1000 cli making my card cl to 1500. Then i waited for the credit steps to add some more cli (in my case it was 500 more) before i chatted online and pc d my card to quicksilver master card. Now my total cl is 2000. And i love this card ! Rewards show up pretty quick ,like a day or two after every purchase. Now i have 10$ rewards for spending around 750$. The reason for me to wait for my credit steps cli to show up before i pc d my card was because i read somewhere that when they upgrade to QS they inform you that you wont be eligible for any more offers for atleast 6 months. And thats what they told me too when i upgraded mine. So i thought if i dont wait until my credit steps hit then i wil b stuck with 1500$ for another 6 months. But i am not sure if this is the case for everyone. May be Op will receive cli from credit steps

I PCed mine right after the first statement cut. They haven't said anything about no credit steps increase and after the PC, I have hit the luv button and each time it says my account is too new, not that I'm not eligible for any other offers. I am also seeking the 3rd statement CLI. So we'll see.

Creditdreamer, you were right. It's a QS Mastercard and my credit limit is $1500. I'm not eligible until April for a CLI.
