CapOne Platinum upgraded to Venture Rewards

So after seeing everyone else get their cards upgraded and repeatedly being told I had no offers via live chat, I'd pretty much lost hope but decided to contact CapOne via Facebook as a last ditch effort.

I didn't expect success honestly, but they called and said my request had been approved. She couldn't have been nicer and the call took all of a minutes. Props to CapOne CS!

I'd have never known about the EO/Facebook option if it weren't for this board, so thanks to everyone!

You got your regular Plat upgraded to the Venture or the Venture One? Whats your CL on the card, and how long have you had it?

Regular Platinum from way back in the day, like 1999, with an AF and $10K CL.

Was upgraded to a Venture Rewards not Venture One.

Exactly. I just thought it was ridiculous that I was paying an AF for a no-rewards Platinum card (the new ones don't even have AF), but I really didn't want to close such an old account. I didn't get the sign-up bonus, but I actually didn't even think to ask about it.

To whomever asked, just go to the Capital One Facebook page and send a message like you would to one of your FB friends. I was actually really surprised that they'd already approved the PC prior to even talking to me and simply called to confirm that I'd like to go ahead with the PC. The phone call took all of one minute. Extremely impressed.

Will it still keep the 1999 year on your new card? Does AAOA get affected at all?

Yes, the account stays the same, no change to AAoA. It's just a normal PC that everyone else has been getting, but for some reason I was never able to do it through live chat. Maybe because of the age of the account?

I just upgraded my Quicksilver One Platinum MC to the Quicksilver WMC with no AF via Live Chat today. I had been wanting to do it for a while now but the chat window NEVER popped up for me. I was too lazy to go through FB message.

When I was on the website today, the magic chat window popped up and I totally took advantage of it. It literally took about 3 minutes and they approved the upgrade. Said I should receive a new card in 7-10 days

Facebook is just normal csrs. Same people on live chat.

Ask the rewards dept for a bonus.

Facebook is definitely involved with the EO, because I just got a call from the EO and was given a direct #, pin and extension to speak with the person handling my case if I have future questions.

Apparently the first person I spoke with spoke too soon, and all was not good. I got a call yesterday, and the rep said that they've tried many different routes but can't upgrade my account. She did, however, offer to give my account the same rewards as the QS or Venture Rewards, and asked me which was more important to me. She offered to check with a couple of other departments in the EO and should have a definitive answer by Tuesday, but asked if I would consider having either QS Rewards or Venture Rewards applied to my Platinum as a backup.

A bit disappointed, but I guess certain accounts really are very difficult to PC. Still, it's a nice offer to apply the rewards of their premium accounts. If I can't PC, though, I'll likely close the account later this year after I app for the Citi Prestige and Venture Rewards.

After reading this thread, I opened a chat window and requested an upgrade on my card. Currently it is a Platinum card and there was an annual fee. They upgraded me to the 1.5% Cashback (Quicksilver I believe) and no annual fee. Happy with the upgrade, thanks for the thread.
