FNB of Omaha Amex Anyone have one?

I got my first Amex one from them about 3 years ago. CLI of $1750. Pretty weak. I did a BT with it of about a grand or so. Bought some stuff periodically over the following years.

Got a letter from em about 2 months ago saying I prequal for yet another Amex card from them. Seems weird 2 have 2 identical Amex cards but I apply and get it, for 3K though.

Anyone else have their card? I've been interested in doing another BT with em but over the last 1.5 years or so, anytime I initiate one I'm told I need an offer code.... WTH?

I just recently thought of combining the 2 accounts as it seems silly to have 2 of the same. I emailed them about doing that a couple of days ago and am awaiting their response. After they get back to me I'm gonna email em back I think and inquire about doing a BT.

How's everyone else's experience with em?

I have their Amex card. I haven't used it much. Think I got it back in October. SL was 7 or 8k.
I wasn't sure if they do HP for cli or SP?

I have one of their standard 1% amex's. I got it last year for the free credit score. Got a decent starting limit at 11k and got an auto 3k increase at the 6 month mark. I put very little spend on the card. I have gotten good customer service the couple times I have called in. Overall I have been happy with them.

I have the FNBO SavingStar AmEX (currently my only FNBO product).

HP for any CLI requests online. Accounts usually can be eligible for SP CLI after 4-6 months of opening if you call and request to see if you have any special (pre-approved) offers for CLI. Otherwise, it will be HP.

I have the Amex 2-2% card gas and groceries

Had it for about 3 years now

Few thing to know about FNBO

1) never heard of them combining cards ...sorry hope it changes for you tho and you open that door for others....

2) SP CLI's every 3-4 months by calling and asking do you have any offers on your account.....

3) DO NOT I repeat DO NOT apply for a CLI online its a HP always

4) BT's come via mail like every month I personally have never used but they are offers like

5.99% for life....0% for 18 months.....No BT fees.....write yourself a check w/o it being considered a cash advance for a vacation etc etc

While your on the phone getting that great new SP CLI ask if you have any BT offers and if you do and like the offer they'll process while you're on the phone.

I just learned alot about my cards based on those replies, cards that I figured were pretty much worthless and useless due to there being pretty much nothing you can really do online with em, such as a BT or asking for a CLI.

Being curious, I just looked at my account history. Turns out I actually had gotten my 1st card with them and it was actually for $2500! Not the $1750 like I had originally thought. I did an intro BT of 2 grand. Apparently FNB maybe weren't happy I did this, because they did drop my limit on the card to what I had though it had always been, $1750.

Never had any lates with em and paid off the 2 grand within a year or so. And made another $500-1000 in purchases over time. I'd think I'd have been a good customer to them in that 2.5 years or so I'd had that card. An auto CLI would have been nice. I'm gonna give em a call and see if I can get a CLI and then try for a potential BT.

While anything is YEMV, an item to keep in mind, FNBO tends to CLD (or AA/close in worse case scenarios) if they perceive risky behavior. This can be as a result of carrying a BT for too long and making only minimum/inadequate payments with that balance for instance or your utilization spiking somewhere else.

Unbelievable!

Amazing what can happen if you just pick up the phone and give em a call. Gave FNB a call and they gave me an increase on that old card of mine from $1750 up to $4250! Not bad.

They said my 2nd card was to new but they could transfer me to the credit dept to do a manual review and I figured it's not worth it. It's only about 6 weeks old anyways.

They explained to me finally about what those pesky BT offer codes are. She said they send them out every 6 months, and my last offer was back in July.

So there weren't any BT offers for me but I did get that nice CLI though.

I have a few other accounts I'm curious to see if I can get a CLI for or a BT for. Just need to give em a call. I always assumed that I'd never get one unless they contacted me. Afterall there isn't anywhere on their sites to ask for this stuff.

Ring this number: 1-800-444-6220 and tell them you want to move credit from one card to another. Sometimes people can be finicky about wording and if you said "combine" they may not have understood. I've moved limits multiple times and unless something changed in the last few months, they should still do it. Just make sure to keep on them. The last time the gentleman for whatever reason couldn't do it instantly as before and he ended up lowering the limit on one and not increasing it on the other. Luckily, I was able to get a lady on the telephone and she saw the error and fixed it right there. I was told that they can only transfer limits between the same payment network, but not sure how valid that is.

Just to make sure we're clear, are you talking about taking 2 FNB accounts and combining them into one single account? Not a balance transfer from one card to the other? Or something else?

Just want to make sure I'm understanding you correctly.

I was interested in combining my 2 FNB accounts into one account cuz they're the same exact type of account. Just seems silly to have 2 identical accounts. One account has a $4250 limit and the other has a $3000 limit. I was hoping to have just 1 card with the combined limits of $7250.

I believe navigatethis12 was referring to the reallocation of CL from one account to another, not combining. IIRC, FNBO doesn't combine accounts, even if they are the same product.

I have the Amex, it's up to over 20k now from SP CLIs alone. I only use it for 0% balance transfers that I pay off immediately.

Well, I took the old blue American Express they used to have(2% on gasoline, groceries, and I believe drug stores?) and moved the whole limit to the SavingStar card I have. They should still be able to do this, but banks seem to change policies all of the time.

Your credit profile and income determine the limits and CLI's that you qualify for.

You can probably BT without a code but if you want to use an offer you have to receive the offer. Otherwise the BT would be subject to your normal cash APR. Offers are targeted. If you have high utilization then that impact your offers. They send me offers all the time.

I don't have an AmEx from them but I do have their Platinum Edition Visa. Rewards aren't that great but I was granted a substantial limit and it currently has a balance parked on it under a 0% offer.

Revolving utilization matters on cards you're BT'ing to as well. 2,000 / 2,500 is 80% which is very high. Other factors in your credit profile at the time could have had an impact as well.

It is not just the account itself that matters but your entire credit profile and income.

Don't rely on that. You can always call and ask. I don't have a CLI request link with US Bank but I've requested CLI's with them.

It isnt, I have reallocated across payment networks without a problem.
