About CLIs with citi

So I've had the double cash card since October. Have tried for a cli since the SL was 1k. Said couldn't approve me at this time because there wasn't an increase available at this time. And to wait six months. So my question is, do I have to wait the full six months? Or wait for a link to show up?

For me, I always have to wait the full six months.

There may be exceptions but for me it was 6 months. I called in after 3 months (and always PIF) and they quickly said 6 months, period. So about 6 months and 1 week I called and they approved my CLI request (to the exact number and no counter offer). Only bad thing is HP only.

SP CLI shows up exactly 5 month after i open my premier account. Got 50% increase. that's enough for me now, leave some breathing room for prestige and/or AA card i might apply later

Wait till a link shows up, or 6 months, whichever is earlier.

Be careful with the link if you are HP-averse. The language should say something like "no report will be pulled". Then go trigger-happy.

With me, the link is always there (Citi Dividend, started at 2k). No CLI for a year, then at 6 month intervals. Any button-pushing within the 6 month window comes back with an automated denial, and some random reason. But reports were not pulled, and that language was there.
