Barclaycard Frontier airlines CLD

got a email saying that I was approaching my limit, thought that is ridiculous, my limit was 12,000 and am not nearly at that limit 780.00 showing for balance, limit slashed down to 1,050.00 waiting for the shoe to drop on the rest of my barclay cards. I think I went to fast and furious on my credit rebuild! opened too many cards, too fast, don't really blame them.

Sorry to hear they AA'ed your account. How long have you had your accounts with Barclays and how many more did you open since you applied with them? This can be a very informative data point that are in the same situation as you are.

yes discover cut my limit 2000 down to 1200.

I do understand but 11,000 just like that, no warning, all I got from them was we sent you a letter did you receive it? I said no I didn't, can you read it to me? Sorry you will have to call back monday and talk to one of our account specialist. Probably will pay off and close card, I do have about 45,000 miles on the frontier airlines, don't know if I can use them if card closed or if I can since they are part of a rewards program. Does anyone know?

Thinking logically you should be able to use it because your miles are with the airline, not necessarily with the credit card cmpany. Such as people opening up a credit card to get the sign up bonuses, and then close the account at the end of the year and just keep the miles they accumulated.

I have 4 accounts, the first one my apple has been open since 2011, the others over the past year, yes I have opened many accounts in the past year, purchased a car for my daughter, and have a boat load of inquiries.

I am about 26% utilization, AAOA about 3years

OP, if you have AA from two banks, has anything changed in your reports? Has your utilization gone up? Racked up inquiries? What I'd do is pay down the balance down on the Barclays card that was reduced.

I also would not close it in this case as it would help your utilization by staying open and at a 0 balance.

Sorry to hear about the CLD, but really, there's no need to close this card.

Just use it regularly and adjust your rebuild, so that you focus now on stabilizing, using consistently, the cards you have. No more apping.

It's not a big deal to have a CLD, it's just part of the dynamic of credit.

It will recover in time.

Sounds like that old misreported baddie is spooking the flock. I'd wait until it falls off, then try for CLIs. Why take long term action for a short term problem.

I don't know does Barclays soft pull Equifax? That's the report that had the judgement that had the mysterious file date change. They changed the file date back to the correct date yesterday but yes it is sure funny how that date change occurred and then 2 accounts got cl'd

Yeah, That pretty much bites. You never know, you may let them know it was a mistake and ask what you can do to get your limit reinstated. Some actually have success.

Or you could SD the thing and ride it out. I have a bunch of new accounts also, and expect CLD from Barclay always. At least I won't be in shock when it actually happens.

I even have a tax lien running out of SOL. I hear they love to re-date them when it goes to satisfied status. Plenty of posts titled "Barclay CLD"... even on Ring community.
