BBVA NBA card

Good evening to everyone. Was wondering is the BBVA NBA Amex a fast growing card? Are they generous with their cli. Thinking once my credit is where I want it, I might just keep 4 cards with nice credit lines. Thanks in advance.

I was granted a $20k SL in November 2015 and I've had no problems with this card at all. That said I can't answer your question on a CLI and frankly I doubt I'll even try because $20k is plenty for my needs. I will say that I don't remember seeing any reports for CLI's on this card, but it is a fairly new player in the game, and they do tend to give out good starting limits.

I got 5.5K last week.......9INQ on EX, 664EX fico and 8% Util. I'm sure my BK had lot to do with my SL.

When the CSR told me my limit and APR. He also told me in order to get a cli it would be a HP. Honestly the SL was good enough for me as well.

Wish all banks started out with a nice SL like BBVA and NASA. I wouldn't bother asking for increases if that were the case.

The BBVA frenzy started around this time last year so maybe we will start seeing some updates from card holders if auto cli's or requested cli's have been successful. I have had my card for approximately 7 months now with moderate usage and always pif. I have not seen any change in CL but did inquiry about one at the 6 month statement. They said it would take a hp and I told them "no thanks". Maybe this thread will get us some updates with some user's that have had the card a little longer.

I started with 1500 limit, have tried increase button. It didn't work, But no hp.

Actually, the "frenzy" didn't actually start out until April of last year by yours truly. There were a couple members, B335is and One7 that initially paved the way with the BBVA card but April 8th is when it rained BBVA around the MF forums.

IIRC, CLI requests are HP and they would typically consider accounts that have been open for at least 6 months. Auto-CLIs are even rare for some of the other BBVA cards (non-NBA). Personally, I wouldn't need one since $30K is pretty sufficient for this card.

There are some individuals that have already tried, unsuccessfully. But, you can also be a guinea pig and try just like the others.

Absolutely.

However, if I've asked others to try it out then report back, that shows obvious trepidation on my end about jumping out of the window. Could be because I'm attempting to garden? Maybe it's because I've assessed my reports and found I can't take another hit(especially if it's NOT worth it). Or it simply could be the fact that my card is barely a month old.

I'll just take @Anonymous's answer at face value until I see evidence to the contrary. Thanks fordguy89!

Yup, I remember that day lol. You were the inspiration for me to support my Heat! My approval was not instant, I had to call in, then told someone would call me back, but I called back instead and received a $15.5k SL and the second lowest APR. I hit the CLI button at the six month mark, and it was declined. No reason, no letter, no hard pull. I am good with my limit and just wanted to test the button. Good luck OP with whatever decision you make.
