Question about Best Buy

How are they with Cli and any idea who they pull?I opened a account roughly two years ago and at that time I was rebuilding my scores and credit.I was gives a $500.00 limit at that time and just thought it would be good for util.I am assuming they do a hard pull?

I requested a CLI online on my BB store card a couple of months ago and they doubled my limit. At that time the card had been open or 18 months. Someone else had mentioned it was a soft when they did it, and while I am not 100% sure, I do not recall seeing an inquiry from them when I pulled my credit reports from the CRA's themselves in September. I will be pulling again in a couple of days from myfico.com and will know for sure.

HSBC is usally pretty good about just doing a soft if it is for a CLI. I always ask to verify with the CSR before going through with the process, but in the last two and a half years, i have never recieved a hard from them.

I called in April and they increased my limit from $500 to $1200, after just five months of having the card. At first they offered $800~ and asked if that would help. I was shopping for a laptop at the time and I asked if they could go any higher and she said "Let me see........ I can increase it to $1200, but that's as much as I can offer." I took it.

They have a CLI button when you log into your acct online. I clicked the button back in the spring and they doubled my CL without a hard pull.

I hit the CLI button on the site and was told to call. After calling and answering a few questions I was granted a $500 increase. I also got a hard inquiry on EQ 2 days later.

Do you have the store card or the Mastercard? I have the MC and when I log on the CLI button is not there.

I have the store card. Maybe it's because I have had the CC since 2001.

I have the MC and I have a button.

DH also has the MC and he does not have a button.

Maybe it is tiered differently.

I pulled today and confirmed that if they pulled it was a soft. No hard inquires from HSBC, I might see what happens with the platinum card of theirs I have, see if they'll give me a CLI.
