Is there a way to make it so that AMEX closes your statement on the same day every month? (for convenience)

You can chat with them and set a payment due date and typically statements cut a couple days later.

Some accounts have the option available online. Go to Payments tab and look in the lower right corner. Not sure if this is been slowly rolled out or who gets it, as my wife does not have it in her account for the exact same card.

Edit: Wow, I totally misunderstood your question. Will leave post here anyways in case is useful to others
