Citi double cash world elite?

So I just got my citi double cash and noticed it is a world elite MasterCard. I thought that the double cash is not a world elite master card and what's even crazier is that I only have a 1.5K limit on it. Has anybody else experienced this or is it fairly rare? Thanks.

Hmmm.. Odd as I thought it was the same qualification as the VS-- A $5k+ limit?

There r numerous Q&A about your particular question on this forum, I believe is issuing most/all current double cash cards as WEMC, which I truly feel r "Psuedo" in nature and lack all WEMC benefits, but they may be capturing the higher merchant fees

From member accounts, many seem to be shipping as WEMC. However, they aren't showing up as "Flexible Spending Credit Cards" on the CRs, nor do they seem to be providing any other WEMC benefits.

Actually, the Double Cash WEMC does provide the WEMC benefits

A low SL for the Double Cash is not uncommon. You can always request a CLI @ activation, but be prepared for another HP. Best of luck!

As others have said, mine appears to be a "fake" WEMC--has the branding, but no associated benefits. The strip and logo look great though!

Can someone denote exactly which benefits are missing from these supposed "fake" WEMCs? And how do you know that the Citi DC cards are missing these features?

Citi has confirmed for me that the WEMC does carry WEMC benefits, and I have successfully been able to use them as well. So I'm not quite sure what the other poster is referencing. Has he/ she had an experience where he/she was unable to use the benefits?

I have regular Double Cash World Mastercard. Is it possible to request a conversion to the world elite mastercard?

Is there any disadvantage with doing this?

Yes. Mine is currently at $1,200, and if I, for example, try to use the Mastercard Concierge app, when I put in the first 6 of my card number it tells me that the service is only available to WEMC cardholders.

I would guess that your CL exceeds 5k? It would make sense to me that the card has the benefits if it traditionally would qualify as WEMC, and does not if the limit is below 5k.

Yes, that is correct. My card has a $6,000 credit line and was opened last August.

Meh not really... I already have other cards that is a WEMC like my Citi Thank you premier, AAdvantage plat, and my Cap one GM cards.

I wouldn't read too much into credit line related to World vs World Elite. I have a $10k+ credit line on my DoubleCash, got my card in Oct 2014 (probably soon after it's introduction), and it's a World Mastercard. I haven't been actively using it, but will soon after maxing out another card's benefits.

Mine was issued with a sl of 2600 as a world elite. Came with a list of WE benefit info as well. Now at 10k limit.

I have a Citi Double Cash card and it's a World MasterCard ($1,500 limit).

At this point, I don't even bother calling in or messaging to ask if it can be upgraded.

I really hate dealing with Citi's customer service there since it's outsourced and completely clueless.... They don't even know anything about their own products. Heck, they don't know anything period. They told me Visa Paywave and MasterCard PayPass technology is being phased out in their little fantasy world they obviously live in, even though it's technology that's on the rise everywhere, including the highly resistant USA.

Citi is only good if you want good cards, but don't want knowledgeable, English speaking staff when you call in or chat online. Closing my checking and savings account there next week, and my Double Cash account within the next six months to find a different card to use from a different company.
