Macys online account access question. EASY too! :)

Is your GL/CL displayed anywhere on the site when you log into your account? I can never find it, mine just tells me what I owe and when the due date is. It's Kind of dumbed down if you ask me.

you won't find it online. it annoyed me enough that i asked once when i called cs why it wasn't and was told it is not displayed for your protection. i didn't 'get it' and still don't. love me some macy's store card but the website is lacking.

That really annoys me, too. It's also the only card I've ever had where they don't print the limit on statements. I remember that for a while, I thought I must just be missing something, and it had to be on the site SOMEWHERE... but no, only way of verifying your limit seems to be to call them!

The Macys website leaves much to be desired. It really doesn't tell you much of anything.

LOL I had the same question BUT I didn't really want to ask. I also find the web site tough to navigate through.

I thought it was only me as well... I was just looking again today to try and find some place that showed details... glad to know now at least that it does not exist...

I have really enjoyed the card and the huge deals in store and online. This is one that I want to see grow...

Going on 3 months... started with $1,200 CL, always PIF.... what is everyones exp with GLI's?

I can tell you mine, I got my card late August, with a CL of $300. I ordered a pair of sunglasses and paid them off. 2 months later I called the number on the back to ask a question, and the automated process revealed a CL of $600. So for me, they doubled my limit over a 2 month period.

I am wondering if they wanted to start me out at a higher limit, but for security reasons since I apped online they gave me $300 to start with until everything verified?

The rewards states that if you spend x amount they will upgrade your account to a different level, IE silver, gold, black. Is that automatic or does a person have to call and request it?

I recieved a GLI at 3 months of $400. But ive only used the card 1 time in the 3 months.

BTW no hard or soft pull for me CSR said we need just 3 months of history for the GLI

I worked for Bloomingdales (part of Macy's Inc.). After dealing with Customer Service and Credit Services, I have a sneaking suspision as to why the credit limits don't appear on statements or the webpage. Bloomies and Macy's are very generous with their limits but they could also teach AmEx a lesson or two about CLDs. If Bloomies/Macy's thinks you could become a liability, they will drop that limit to $200.00 faster than you can blink. I had customers who paid a day late and they dropped it several thousand dollars and made them build it back up. Some people were allowed to go over the limit and then penalized for it. Others just didn't use the card and then had it dropped as well. Bloomingdale's and Macy's are excellent credit providers as long as you are responsible and consistent and show them a little love periodically. Screw up with them and they penalize you, however they will let you make it up to them over time.

sorry to postjack, but i have a question i paid 1 day late and my cl was cut in 1/2, is there anyway to get restored without waiting 4-6 months, i even offered to send in hospital documentation ( was having my new son)? i've never been late, i love my macys card but am tempted to pay off my $67 balance and close it if they can't restore my credit line..

I would call and politely ask the customer service rep if they could re-instate it. Just bring up your payment history and the fact that it was only one day and that you have since paid in full. Usually, if you are nice, and it's within the customer service reps ability, they will do it for you. If they say they can't, ask for a superivsor and explain to them that you are a loyal customer with a good history and it was an honest mistake but it's the holiday time and you would like to do some shopping, etc. and Macy's is your top choice. Generally the person who answers the fone does have the authority (with-in reason) to help you out and there is always a supervisor around. You are making a reasonable request, it's the holiday time, and you are unhappy about the decrease, but took care of the problem immediately. They generally are willing to accomodate you. Also, if you have a sales associate you regularly work with or know, you could have them call lol. I used to do that for customers all the time, let them know I need somebody's limit raised so they could make a purchase with me.

I have a Macys account and am allways pleasantly surprised at their great customer service. I get my cl info from the phone line , but it would be nice to get it all thru the website. Did the same thing , spent time looking for cl on the website but it was never to be found.
