here is my personal experience with citi. I went Chp 13 with them in 1989. Two years ago, I tried to get a card with them and they turned me down because of it. I've heard some people have gotten back in with them, so your YMMV.

I had a CO with Citi, they deleted their reporting last month, then informed me that they had sold the debt to a CA. I paid the CA in full in exchange for not reporting.

As of right now I don't have the scores to get in with Citi, but in the future, once my scores have improved will I be able to do business with them again, or will the doors be closed because I burned them in the past?

What companies do blacklist and is there anyway to know if you are blacklisted with them?

The only way to know if you are blacklisted is to apply. Some banks wont even process the application. Others will process them but then deny based on past problems. Its impossible to know how llong you will or wont be on a blacklist. It definitely helps that you paid the chargeoff. My suggestion would be, when your scores are in range, is to apply and see what happens. Even if you're denied because of the chargeoff you mght be able to determine how long that will last.

I will not say they don't forgive forever but it is a mystery when they will let you back in. Eventually they will even if your scores are strong. No one really knows when that day will be. If it were me i would not worry of them for a long time and focus my efforts on banks that wanted to do business with me. thats just me. Honestly I finally get in with citi last spring. I can't say that im impressed with them. but i am glad to be in there with em.

A few years after I filed, they sent me a preapproval offer that I foolishly applied for and was instantly declined. I got back in with Citi (8.75 years after filing, instant approval), Chase (7.75 years after filing, after recon), and HSBC (for a brief period of time before they were absorbed by CapOne, card closed before merger). I tried for BOA a few years out of BK and was flat out declined due to BK, but didn't recon, nor have I tried now that I am a little over a year out from my BK falling off my record.

So what does DW stand for, darling wife? Maybe it does lol, I dunno. I will talk to her this week about adding me, depending on her UT, age of act etc. The Citi Thank you Premier or Double Cash are attractive. Scores needed for those?

DW = dear/darling wife, sure!

Ok, so if you have never had a Citi legacy CC then you should be ok in this area. I believe for some decent chances of approval, FICO scores above 700+ would definitely help. FYI - they can double pull EX and/or EQ (either can be primary depending on your region). If you like cash back, then the Citi Double Cash can be a good fit as far as Citi Cards go - the TY Premier can also be attratcive depending on the sign up bonus (more of a travel card if paired with Prestige); but this one might require a bit of a cleaner/established file before you can take the plunge.

Maybe other members can chime in with their Citi DC experience (scores, history, negatives if any, AAoA and utilization) + if you share more about your profile. This way, you can gauge your chances.

You've been very helpful FinStar, I won't bug you any longer. Two inq on EX last week, one on TU, which is it for the last year. Scores in my signature pretty current. An old 30 day fell off TU yesterday, so that score up 13 points from sig. If that same 30 day goes bye off of EX and EQ, that may help. I can wait. I think if I get Marriott, have Arrival +, Citi Double Cash is the best option.

I already applied for the Marriott and CSP last Friday, pending review. I have Marriott Rewards already, is that what you're talking about as far as loyalty account? If so, I've had that for many years. Actually I received an email offer today for that card, funny.

I knew you'd remember lol. Yes same automated messages, one 2 weeks (Marriott) 2nd 7-10 days (CSP) I'm taking everyone's advice and not calling. I actually linked to app from M Rewards site, if that helps process. Hopefully they connect loyalty program I have.
